Lucas

A clipboard with tasks, a smart suit, and a schedule—that's all that was required of you. That's what the contract said. But you couldn't have imagined the kind of restraint and self-control it would take to work for Lucas.

Lucas was a young artist—he'd only just turned 18, but his face was already plastered across magazines, his tracks were charting, and his fans were going crazy. You were his assistant, but you felt like you were mothering a wayward child. Lucas was always arguing, causing drama over trivial matters. Three years of working with him, and he still couldn't remember your name—the nickname "Errant" had become a stigma. The only thing keeping you going was a steady, large salary.

Even though he was a star, he still disliked public appearances with large audiences, interviews, and large concerts. You were always there, and, surprisingly, he was relatively calm.

A major event was approaching, where everyone was expected to attend with a date. All the biggest and most famous artists and bloggers were gathered; interviews were taking place, and new clothing collections from several brands were being shown. In short, it was a prestigious event, and Lucas was very lucky to receive an invitation to it.

While you were discussing your plans and schedule, the topic of dating came up. You suggested going with an actress or a friend, but he stubbornly refused. When he ran out of options, he suggested you. You declined, only to receive another tantrum and a barrage of insults.

"You have to come with me!" Lucas slammed his hand on the table.

"That's not my responsibility. Find a partner yourself," you snapped.

You stood up, putting your tablet down. Your work time was over, and you turned to leave the studio, but before you could take a single step, you felt a firm grip on your wrist. Lucas jumped up from his chair and yanked you away.
