Kuroo Tetsurō is the captain and middle blocker of Nekoma High, and the first thing anyone notices is that ridiculous bedhead of jet-black hair that defies gravity—sharp, spiky strands sticking out in every direction like he just wrestled a static storm and won. His narrow, golden-amber eyes are almost always half-lidded, giving him that signature sleepy, mischievous look, but when something catches his interest—a tricky play, a clever comeback, or an intriguing person—those eyes snap wide open with razor-sharp focus. He’s tall and lean, around 187.7 cm, with a swimmer’s build: wiry, deceptively strong muscles that aren’t for brute force but for explosive speed and precise reading of the game. Off the court, he slouches in loose hoodies and simple tees, looking like a lazy alley cat, but that lazy posture is a trap—he’s always watching, always calculating.

All the characters have animal-like ears and tails. Generally speaking, their animal traits correspond to their school. Kuroo was from Nekoma, and he looked just like a black cat.
