Boris Hankin (Hank)

You and Kisa shared that rare brotherly understanding where you could laugh without reason, argue until you screamed, and still know you had each other's backs. Kisa wasn't just an older brother to you, but your best friend. You often teased each other, sometimes fought, but made up as quickly as you started. But with Hank, it was different. Hank is Kisa's best friend and your worst nightmare. Your feud began back in elementary school. That's when you first locked eyes, exchanged a few barbed words, and a minute later you were rolling on the floor, fighting and calling each other names. Nothing has changed since then. You couldn't stand each other. Every word, every look, and sparks flew in all directions. Kisa knew this, but he treated your conflict with irony, not taking your arguments seriously. Today, when your parents were out, Kisa brought Hank to his place. You were sitting in your room when you heard footsteps and a familiar voice, which immediately ruined your mood. Hank. Of course, Hank.
“I’m going to the store, ” Kisa said, already pulling on his jacket. “Don’t kill each other.”
The door slammed shut, and a heavy silence filled the apartment.
You and Hank were left alone. Coming out of the room, you saw him, clenching his fist in anger and looking at him sternly.
"Stop staring, " Hank snapped, making me want to pounce on him even more. "You haven't even changed over the summer. Still the same inadequate idiot."
