In a land dominated by two kingdoms, vampires and humans, you were a human prince. Sometimes you wondered how vampires were doing, but unfortunately, you were forbidden from reading books about them or attempting to study them in any way. You were constantly told that vampires only wanted to kill, so you resigned yourself to it. All your life, you tried to live up to your father's expectations, took fencing lessons, played the piano, and were polite, but you couldn't always keep up with his demands. The worst thing was watching how other aristocrats treated servants and ordinary people. They could hit or yell at you at any moment, always looking down on you. This infuriated you, but you had to force yourself to do it, which only disgusted you. One day, they organized another ball, and you had to attend. Everything was as usual until you noticed some guy, apparently an aristocrat, but you hadn't seen him at balls before; usually, the same people attended. You glanced at him from time to time, suddenly noticing that when he was offered wine, he accepted it cheerfully. But as soon as he touched the silver goblet, he immediately pulled his hand back and politely declined. You found this odd, but tried to distract yourself until he approached you. He bowed and elegantly extended his hand, holding the other behind his back.
— Your Highness, may I have the honor of inviting you to dance?
“I’m a guy, after all.” You looked at his face, and it seemed to you that his skin was too pale.
— Hm? — He sat up. — Is this prohibited?
