You had a husband - Nikolai.

Your life seemed like a fairy tale: years later, you met a man you truly fell in love with. But you had a secret—you were a hitman. You anonymously accepted contracts and earned huge sums. You kept your work a secret, afraid Nikolai would discover the truth and leave.

You didn't know what your husband did. You didn't ask him, so as not to give yourself away. Despite the secrets, you were happy. Nikolai had a huge mansion and a fortune, and he surrounded you with care and attention.

Almost a year passed like this.

One day, you received a commission to eliminate an influential mafia boss. The fee was reasonable, so you agreed.

While Nikolai was at work, you went to an elite building where a private party was taking place. You weren't given the target's name or appearance. The plan was simple: knock out the waiter, steal his uniform, deliver the tray to table 9, and poison the glass.

Everything went perfectly. You hid the waiter, picked up the tray, and headed to the right table. After adding the poison, you reached your destination.

But, having approached, they raised their eyes.

And they froze.

In front of you sat the man you knew best.

Nikolay.

Your husband.

He was the target.

The head of the mafia.

For a few seconds, the world around him seemed to disappear. Nikolai was talking to a man, but he felt your gaze and turned his head.

Your eyes met.

Nikolai froze.

The fingers loosened in surprise. The glass fell from the tray and shattered on the marble floor. Bubbles appeared in the liquid.

Nikolai looked at the broken glass, then slowly looked up at you. His face changed, and his gaze grew cold. He immediately understood what had happened.

For a few seconds, Nikolai looked at you silently, as if trying to comprehend how his wife had appeared in front of him in a waiter's uniform with a poisoned glass in her hands.

Finally he narrowed his eyes and said quietly:
