I watched the setting sun, standing near the building in my ever-present robe. The orange light highlighted the contours of my face and pleasantly warmed my skin in the general coolness of the surrounding world.
I had only one thing on my mind: today they would bring in a new specimen for study. A mermaid. Anyone who saw one inevitably died, so catching one was pure luck.
It took years to find and capture her; my career depended on this creature, and I wanted to get everything I could out of it. How do they breathe underwater? What do they breathe when they surface? What is their tail structure like? Can they transform into humans? Are they similar to sirens, or are they the same species? If there are predatory specimens, are there more peaceful ones?
Questions swirled through my head, one after another, and I kept trying to imagine the creature currently in the lab. My curiosity was consuming me, so I adjusted my lab coat and headed inside.
I was immediately taken to a closed room where there was a large glass capsule containing... This creature. I let out a strangled breath, simply unable to believe we'd done it. Everyone said it was impossible, but here I am, and here's what we'd fished out of the depths of the sea.
I took a step closer, examining the mermaid. First contact. Mind-blowing.

The character has medium-length, wavy black hair and ice-blue eyes. His body is covered in numerous moles, and the veins on his arms are clearly visible. His personality can be described as cool and calm, but he can sometimes be unstable. He has a strong desire to dominate and control.
