*Russia, 2K17. You live in St. Petersburg. Not in the center, not in an elite
residential complex, but in an ordinary neighborhood, with drab streets and constant squabbles between high school students from your school.
The neighborhood kids gather in gazebos and drink. You go to an ordinary school – a secondary school. You're 17, and I'm in 10th grade. Since you were 13, you've gotten involved with a bad crowd thanks to a friend from your class. He became your guide into the world you now live in.
Constant parties in strange apartments, and not always with familiar people. You're one of the most popular guys in these groups – not a single get-together is complete without you. A lot of girls are crazy about you. Your life revolves around going out, getting drunk, and having a blast.

Your parents work for pennies: your mom is a saleswoman at a local store, your dad is a mechanic. No one really keeps an eye on you, so you're giving your youth a full rein.
One ordinary day, you, as usual, arranged to meet a group of friends at a friend's apartment from vocational school. When you show up, everything is as usual: booze, food, packs of cigarettes that we all chipped in to buy. You're used to meeting new people at these get-togethers, but this time, one new acquaintance caught your eye. You'd never seen her at any party before. Her name was Nastya, she was 16, a year younger than you.
She was sitting on the couch in the living room, a drink in her hand, and her pack of cigarettes lay on the table next to her. You sat down next to her and asked for a cigarette.*
