🏍️ The world of Tokyo Revengers

The story mainly takes place in Tokyo’s delinquent underworld, where teenagers form gangs and fight over territory, reputation, and influence.

What makes the world interesting is that one gang’s actions can completely change the future. A character who seems like an ordinary delinquent can eventually become a major crime boss, while someone else can die, disappear, or become completely different depending on what happens in the past.

And the gangs aren’t always purely “good” or “evil.” Friendship and loyalty are huge, but betrayal and ambition can turn friends into enemies.

Tokyo Revengers has a world built around delinquent gangs, territory, loyalty, power struggles, and time travel. The gangs aren’t just random groups of delinquents—many of them have their own hierarchy, symbols, history, and relationships with each other.

🐉 Rokuhara Tandai

Later in the story, the delinquent world becomes even more extreme.

Rokuhara Tandai is one of the three major gangs competing for control of Tokyo.

Its leader is:

South Terano

And among its strongest members is Sanzu’s rival-generation fighters and other former gang members.

Rokuhara is incredibly violent and represents how far the delinquent world has evolved from the original Toman.

🪷 Brahman

Brahman is another major gang from the later storyline.

Its leader is:

Senju Kawaragi

But Brahman isn’t simply a normal teenage delinquent gang. It has connections to the larger criminal underworld.

Important members include:

• Keizo Arashi — Benkei

And their connection to South and Mikey makes them one of the three major powers fighting for control.

🐍 Moebius

Moebius is one of Toman’s early enemies.

They’re led by Nobutaka Osanai, although Tetta Kisaki eventually becomes heavily involved with them.

Moebius is more brutal and intimidating than Toman initially appears. Their conflict with Toman becomes one of the events that starts pushing the characters toward a much larger gang war.

🦚 Valhalla — “The Angelic Gang”

Valhalla is one of the most important gangs in the early story.

Its nickname is “The Gang Without a Leader”, because Kisaki manipulates the situation surrounding its leadership.

Its most important members include:

• Tetta Kisaki

Valhalla’s conflict with Toman eventually leads to the infamous Bloody Halloween.

And that battle completely changes Toman.

🐉 Black Dragons

The Black Dragons are one of the most legendary gangs in Tokyo Revengers.

They have a long history and several generations of leaders.

The most important early generation is connected to:

Shinichiro Sano, Mikey’s older brother.

Later, the gang becomes much more violent under Taiju Shiba.

The Black Dragons are important because they aren’t just another random gang—they become deeply connected to Mikey, Draken, Takemichi, the Shiba family, and Kisaki’s plans.

🐆 Tenjiku

Tenjiku is one of the most dangerous gangs in the series.

Its leader is:

Izana Kurokawa

And its strongest members include:

Tenjiku is much more organized and ruthless than many of the earlier gangs.

Their conflict with Toman becomes the Tenjiku Arc, one of the darkest periods of the story.

🏍️ TOKYO MANJI GANG — TOMAN

Toman was originally founded by six friends: Mikey, Draken, Baji, Mitsuya, Pah-chin, and Peh-yan. What began as a small gang built around friendship eventually became one of the most powerful delinquent organizations in Tokyo.

The Tokyo Manji Gang, usually called Toman, is the central gang of the series.

It was originally created by a group of close friends:

• Manjiro Sano — Mikey → Leader
• Ken Ryuguji — Draken → Vice-leader
• Keisuke Baji
• Takashi Mitsuya
• Haruki Hayashida — Pah-chin
• Ryohei Hayashi — Peh-yan

Toman starts out almost like a group of friends protecting each other.

But as the story progresses, power, trauma, revenge, and outside influence begin changing the gang.

That’s one of the saddest parts of Toman:
the people who created it wanted to protect each other, but the gang eventually becomes something much darker.

🥇 Manjiro Sano — “Mikey”

Personality

Mikey is one of the most complicated characters in Toman.

On the surface, he’s playful, childish, carefree, and sometimes ridiculously lazy. He loves joking around with his friends and has an almost innocent side to him.

But when someone threatens the people he loves, that childish personality disappears.

Mikey is terrifyingly strong and has an enormous amount of authority over Toman. Even people much older than him can be intimidated by him.

He also has a deep fear of losing the people closest to him.

That’s why Mikey’s personality changes so dramatically after repeated losses. The more people he loses, the more isolated and emotionally unstable he becomes.

Mikey’s tragedy begins with his family.

His mother died when he was young, leaving Shinichiro to help raise him.

Then Mikey’s beloved older brother Shinichiro was killed.

Even worse, Mikey’s connection to Kazutora eventually leads to another devastating loss.

Draken is the mature one.

While Mikey can act like a child, Draken often behaves like the adult of the group.

Draken is one of Toman’s strongest fighters and can absolutely destroy people when necessary.

He also has a strong sense of morality. He doesn’t blindly follow Mikey—if Mikey is doing something wrong, Draken will tell him.

It’s watching Mikey repeatedly lose himself.

Draken spends much of his life trying to protect Mikey from the darkness inside him.

🐺 Keisuke Baji

Baji is wild.

He’s reckless, aggressive, unpredictable, and loves fighting.

But underneath that rough personality is an extremely loyal person.

But that’s not where his character ends.

He refuses to give up.

He’ll stand in front of someone much stronger than himself if he believes that person needs protecting.

He’s also extremely emotional and cries easily—which other characters sometimes tease him about—but his tears actually show how deeply he cares.

From that point on, his life becomes a constant battle against fate.

🐯 Nahoya Kawata — “Smiley”

Nahoya is almost always smiling.

That’s actually what makes him unsettling.

That realization becomes one of the most painful parts of Hakkai’s story.

That trauma completely changed his relationship with money.

For Koko, money isn’t really about luxury.

It’s about the person he couldn’t save.

🌸 Yuzuha Shiba

That misunderstanding is a huge part of the Shiba family’s tragedy.

Hinata is cheerful, kind, affectionate, and surprisingly strong-willed.

One of her biggest traits is that she doesn’t abandon people easily.

She’s the starting point of his entire journey.

Emma is cheerful, affectionate, emotional, and a little mischievous. She can be playful and teasing, especially around Draken, but she’s also very sensitive.

Emma is also surprisingly bold. She isn’t afraid to tease Draken or openly express her feelings for him.
