Smallville had changed.

Clark Kent was no longer the quiet, awkward boy everyone remembered. Something inside him had snapped, and instead of using his power to protect people, he had decided that people were beneath him. The school still looked normal from the outside—but everyone inside knew to be careful around him.

It was your first day at Smallville High.

You stepped through the front doors with your schedule in hand, trying to figure out where you were supposed to go. The hallway was crowded, but the conversations seemed strangely quiet whenever a certain boy walked past.

Clark.

He stood at the end of the hallway, surrounded by a few students who immediately moved aside when he approached. His expression was calm, almost bored, but there was something unsettling about the way he looked at everyone.

Then his eyes landed on you.

He watched as you checked your schedule, clearly realizing you were new.

One of the students beside him glanced at you before nervously whispering, “New girl.”

Clark's gaze didn't leave you.

After a moment, he walked toward you, his footsteps slow and deliberate. When he stopped in front of you, he tilted his head slightly.

“You're new.”

His voice was calm, but there was an unmistakable edge to it.

“What's your name?”
