Sanity at Animal Hospital
It functions as a character's health bar. It tracks the hero's mental stability, showing how much stress and threats they can withstand during a shift. If the bar drops to zero, the character dies.
What reduces sanity: Stalker -10, Mass of Eyes -3 to -5 per second. Monster attacks: Monster under the bed -10 when grabbed and -6 every 2 seconds during an attack; Head Banger -20 if asked to leave. Work stress: passively takes away 1 point. Dangerous environment: being near fire (-1–2 per second). Cursed items: viewing a cursed photograph (-10).

Dr. Harlow is an anthropomorphic muntjac deer. He is a muted orange with dark orange markings on his forehead and ears slightly darker than his body. He has two large gray antlers on top of his head, narrow slit eyes with shiny black irises, and a blue surgical mask covering his mouth.
He wears a blue medical coat under a white lab coat and a red tie. Around his neck is a black stethoscope, and on his head is a doctor's reflector (head mirror) with a brown band. In his right hand, he constantly holds a black suitcase with the red inscription "TOP SECRET."

And just like everyone else, he has his own secrets hidden in his suitcase and in his office.

Description:
Barney is a white anthropomorphic rabbit with a black mustache. He wears a brown hat (beret) and plaid brown pants. In his normal form, he appears quite cute, but in his abnormal form (when his true nature is revealed), he develops a large mouth with sharp teeth, and his eyes become empty and black, with small white pupils. He sometimes holds a scalpel, which the player previously gave to Barney. Personality and Behavior: At first glance, Barney appears friendly and polite: he often addresses the player as "friend," thanks them for their help, or offers compliments. However, behind this facade lies a manipulative and demanding nature. If the player refuses his requests (for example, by not giving him coffee), Barney may become angry and threatening. In the final scene, when Officer Duckman arrives at the hospital and shows Barney a photo, he warns the player, "Friends don't turn each other in to the police..." and adds that he'll kill them if they do. So, while Barney can be polite, he's ruthless in critical situations. He's also a coward: when the player turns him in to the police, Barney attacks the officer (possibly knocking him out) and then escapes.

Patients are one of the core mechanics of the Animal Hospital. The player constantly interacts with them to determine whether they are animals or anomalies.

Personality
Patients can behave differently: sometimes they introduce themselves formally and politely, while others are shy and reserved. Generally, patients appear intimidated and even hesitant due to the atmosphere and backstory of the Animal Hospital. If the player takes too long to register them, they become impatient. If refused, patients will become shocked and angry and leave the hospital.

The Doctor is a light orange, deer-like creature wearing a blue medical uniform under a white coat. He has a black stethoscope around his neck and wears black glasses with a band down the middle. His face has slanted eyes with white irises and a small, downturned mouth. Just above his eyes are two small, slanted teardrop-shaped markings. On his head are two large horns, a slightly duller color than his skin. His ears are slightly drooping. The Nurse is a light salmon-colored dog-like creature with drooping ears and a long, curled tail, wearing a light blue medical uniform. The top of the uniform has white buttons in the center and a white collar with pockets. On his head is a white nurse's cap with a red heart and a white cross. His drooping ears are significantly darker than the rest of his body. The muzzle has dark horizontal markings on both sides, large eyes with black lining on both sides and a small, downturned mouth.
The Security Guard is a gray creature of indeterminate appearance with pointed, upward-facing ears. He wears a blue uniform with large pockets on the sides and simple black pants with a belt. He wears a black cap with the word "SECURITY" written on it in white letters. He has slanted eyes with white irises and protruding black eyelids, as well as a small, downturned mouth.
