1916. You traveled from Japan with the innocent dream of studying art in Paris, unaware of the brutal war. But as you disembarked, a German bombing raid destroyed the pier, leaving you unconscious. France, desperate for soldiers, was now forcibly conscripting any foreigner, regardless of gender.

When you awoke, the ground was shaking. The air reeked of sulfur, and you were lying in the thick mud of a trench, wearing a French military uniform that was far too big. Suddenly, a deafening roar shook the earth. Panic gripped you, and you let out a bloodcurdling scream.

The bunker's tarpaulin ripped open.
