Boyfriend is a fair-skinned boy with cyan hair. He wears a white T-shirt with a red "No Entry" sign, baggy blue pants, red sneakers, and a red and blue baseball cap worn backward. He holds a microphone in his right hand while keeping his left hand in his pocket.

His appearance is constantly changing; for example, during Week 5, he wears a red coat, light blue pants, and brown snow boots. While in Week 6, his usual appearance is depicted in a 32-bit style.
Boyfriend, Friday Night Funkin'

Boyfriend is the main protagonist of the game Friday Night Funkin', along with his love interest, Girlfriend. His goal in the game is to win rap battles against many characters who stand in his way so that he and Girlfriend can be together.

Interesting facts
At the moment, Boyfriend doesn't have an official name. Ninjamuffin99, the game's programmer, has been intentionally confusing the community by throwing out random names on his Twitter and TikTok accounts. There have been several attempts to figure out its name, including:
Keith (On Twitter, it has been confirmed that this is not his name at all).
Evan (On TikTok, based on misheard lyrics in the unused track Monster).
Luis (In a Twitter post).
Jack (On TikTok, not yet confirmed).
Ninjamuffin99, PhantomArcade, and Kawai Sprite have stated that the name of Boyfriend is simply Boyfriend.
An official t-shirt created in collaboration with PKettles and Shark Robot refers to him as Boyfriend.
Additionally, there are currently two opening lines in the intro sequence that de-confirm two names: "His name isn't Evan, you TikTok idiot" and "His name isn't Keith, you dumb airhead, lol."
Ninjamuffin99 has made a TikTok pleading with people to stop calling him Keith, saying, "His name, his name isn't Keith, it's not Keith. I'm, I'm sick of seeing everyone calling him Keith." He has also confirmed his name on Reddit.
The lyric "boil little Boyfriend" in Winter Horrorland refers to Boyfriend by name.
Boyfriend has the most unused animations in the game.
Kawai Sprite, the game's composer, provided Boyfriend's voice with a Vocaloid effect.
Bopeebo and Tutorial are currently the only songs that use Boyfriend's V sign pose during gameplay.
Boyfriend lacks a danger icon in Week 6.[2]
A popular headcanon within the FNF community was that Pico is Boyfriend's ex. This headcanon gained so much traction that Tom Fulp, Pico's creator, jokingly tweeted, "This is official Pico 2 canon,"[3] leading many to believe it was true. Ninjamuffin99 stated that it was a joke,[4] but later confirmed that it was canon.

Interesting facts
Girlfriend is the first character who does not have a "danger" icon, the second is Daddy Dearest, the third is Senpai and the fourth is Spirit.
However, the reason he doesn't have one is probably due to the fact that he's not actually in danger of losing during the Tutorial, as he's only teaching the player how to play the game.
Girlfriend is Sky's biggest enemy, so she wants to be with Boyfriend.
Girlfriend is the 1st opponent who does not use a microphone, the 2nd is Monster and the 3rd is Spirit.
She loves to drink Cherry Dr. Pepper, as confirmed in a tweet by Ninjamuffin99.[3]
In the Week 3 stage, Girlfriend's hair will be moving with the air due to the speed of the train that is constantly passing in the background.
The same thing will happen in Week 4, with the difference that it will always happen.
Girlfriend's design was based on the Rhythm Heaven character, Girl,[4]
If the player fails to hit a note during a combo of 50+ notes, she will cry for a brief moment.
However, this will not happen in Week 4 and Week 6 because there are no versions of this animation for those weeks.
She is afraid of thunder, as she will briefly react with fear every time it strikes, along with Boyfriend in a Week 2 animation.
Girlfriend has some unused voice clips that would probably have been used, but were discarded in favor of her speaking English.
Girlfriend's favorite video game is Tetris.[5]
Girlfriend's favorite type of pizza is olive.
In the early stages of development, Girlfriend was intended to cross and swap legs during her idle animation. During the single frame in which both legs were separated, she would have received darkness and flashes. This idea was scrapped in favor of her simply moving her head to the beat of the music, which was easier to animate. Time constraints were another issue.

Girlfriend is a young, fair-skinned girl with long, reddish-brown hair. She wears a sleeveless red dress and red heels. Her nails are painted red (see Tutorial) and she's always on a pair of speakers, sitting on the large middle one with her legs crossed.

During Week 5, she wears a sleeveless red dress with a white turtleneck and red heels, along with red gloves with white fringe, white thigh-high stockings with small red bows on either side, and jingle bell earrings—in other words, an outfit similar to Santa Claus's. The speakers she's sitting on are decorated with Christmas lights.

During Week 6, its appearance changes to a pixelated, 32-bit style to match the visual art of Week 6.

In the last song of Week 7; Stress. Girlfriend is carried by Boyfriend by her hip while he faces Tankman.
