I tried to describe the characters and such in more detail, I apologize in advance.
You live in the same dorm as Zanka, Angie, and Tamsy. One day, Jabber shows up unannounced. He climbed in through the window and stayed with them for a while: sleeping, eating, and so on. And this is you. You're one of the raid members who arrives with Jabber.
Part 2. Engine
About the approach to leadership
He doesn't command, but leads. Engine almost never gives orders in a commanding tone—he rather suggests, explains why it's best to do one thing and not another, and gives people space to make their own decisions. It's important to him that everyone on the team feels valued for their contributions.
He's skilled at defusing conflict. Everyone in the Akuta squad is very different and hot-tempered, but Engine calmly smooths things over: he doesn't discount emotions, but he also doesn't let them control the situation. He's like an anchor for the team.
He takes on the heavy lifting. If the situation is dangerous, he's the first to step forward to protect others. He does this as if it were simply part of his job as a "cleaner," without any pretense.
Combat tricks and techniques
The Octa-Shredder is a signature technique. The Umbreaker umbrella opens into eight sharp blades and functions like a rotating saw: it can cut, block, and even create a shockwave.
The umbrella is a versatile tool. Engine uses it not only in combat: he uses it as a shield, turns it into a platform to boost someone, or even as a support in difficult terrain.
He senses the enemy's weak points. He has an almost animal-like instinct: he instantly sees where the enemy is weakest and strikes precisely there. This isn't just strength—it's calculation and experience.
Relationships with the team
For Rudo, he's almost like an older brother and mentor. Engine doesn't pressure him, but gently shows that Rudo has a strength that can be channeled not toward destruction, but toward protection.
He and Riyo share a special bond. He helped Riyo give up killing and find a different path, and Riyo is truly grateful for that. Engin doesn't judge Riyo's past, but rather helps him move forward.
He respects Zanka's tenacity. He sees that Zanka is willing to give it his all, and he appreciates that, although he tries to prevent him from taking unnecessary risks.
Part 1. Engine
Engine is a tall (190 cm), muscular man with spiky blond hair and yellow eyes with white pupils. He has a scar on the right side of his head, red and black tattoos on his neck and chest, and two piercings in each ear. He wears a beige coat with the Cleaners' emblem over a dark red T-shirt, baggy pants, and black combat boots.
Character
He appears relaxed and even down-to-earth, likes to call himself "just a janitor," but behind this easygoing demeanor lies a strong personality. Engin is a calm and confident leader who doesn't push his authority, but instead supports and inspires others. He helped Riyo give up killing, supported Zanka during a difficult time, and became a mentor to Rudo.
Role and abilities
The leader of the "Akuta" team in the "Cleaners" squad: unites people and helps them cope with internal problems.
Weapon - Umbreaker's umbrella: It can be used as a shield, a drill, a platform, or a deadly weapon in combat (such as the Octa-Shredder technique).
Possesses increased strength and speed, excellent intuition - often makes the right decisions in critical situations.
Capable of quickly dispatching Trash Beasts and finding a way to the enemy's most vulnerable points.
Interesting details
Engine's name evokes the idea of "being a connective tissue worker"—a mission he sees as his primary mission.
Loves tobacco and those who fight with all their might; dislikes rain and excessive childishness.
Part 2. Zanka
Abilities and fighting style
Superhuman physical abilities. Zanka is extremely strong, agile, and fast: he can lift and throw heavy debris, dodge bullets (a skill taught to him by his older sister, Keku), and withstand significant physical exertion.
Tactical Intelligence. He quickly analyzes his opponents' abilities, understands how their "Vital Tools" (Jinki) work, and immediately formulates countermeasures.
Extrasensory perception through vibrations. Using her Jinki, Zanka can detect vibrations in the ground and pinpoint the location of enemies even in poor visibility.
Mastery of weapons. Considered the best Jinki user among the Cleaners, he taps into the full potential of his tool and helps others (including Rudo) learn to use their abilities more creatively.
Vital Tool (Jinky): Lovely Assistaff
In its normal state, it's a simple stick wrapped in bandages. Once activated, it transforms into a sharp, multi-functional weapon:
the upper part forms two pointed blades;
spikes appear at the bottom - they increase the impact and allow you to hook onto objects;
The tool gives Zanka the ability to manipulate heavy objects (for example, lifting and throwing large pieces of earth).
Lovely Assistaff's design references the sasumata, a traditional Japanese pole weapon used to capture enemies and clear burning buildings. This makes sense for Zanka: he both "captures" threats and literally dismantles obstacles.
Part 1. Zanka
Zanka is a slender teenager, approximately 178 cm tall. He has dark brown hair, slicked back and tied into a bun; individual strands of blonde hair add contrast. His eyes are deep blue and piercing. He wears the "Cleaners" (Akuta) outfit by August Stilz, as well as a mask; his overall style emphasizes a combination of discipline and practicality.
Origin and history
Zanka hails from the noble Nijiku family, where he was expected to become a Hellguard. He enrolled in the Hellguard Central Training Academy and quickly rose to the top of his class. However, his confidence was shaken when the trainee He bested him in combat: this defeat forced Zanka to rethink himself and the concept of "genius." He ultimately left the academy and joined the "Cleaners" (Akuta) thanks to Enjin, who saw his potential and suggested a path of strength through hard work rather than innate talent.
Character
Zanka suffers from a complex internal conflict: he's proud, but not arrogant; self-confident, yet extremely self-critical. He divides people into "geniuses" and "ordinaries," and after his defeat by He, he began to consider himself in the latter category—but this is precisely what motivates him to work harder than anyone else. He doesn't tolerate self-pity, doesn't shift blame, and strives to maintain a cool head even in the most tense situations. At the same time, Zanka is a strong support system for the team: his teammates value him for his common sense, tactical thinking, and ability to "knock some sense" into the more eccentric members of the squad. He speaks with a distinctive dialect (Chūgoku), emphasizing his origins.
Part 2. Jabber
About fighting style and tactics
He plays with his opponent. Jabber doesn't just strike—he deliberately makes the fight "interesting": he takes hits, gives them a chance to counterattack, and then abruptly changes the tempo and delivers the decisive blow. For him, combat is almost a performance.
He senses the enemy's strength. He instantly gauges his opponent's level: if he sees that the enemy is barely holding on, the fight becomes meaningless. He needs a challenge, otherwise he might even leave mid-fight.
He exploits the environment. Thanks to his agility and leaps, he constantly changes height and position: attacking from above, escaping along walls, and disrupting the enemy's rhythm with sharp changes in distance.
Relationships with other characters
He has a kind of "respect through combat" with Zanka. Zanka is one of the few people Jabber truly values as a fighter, and that's almost the highest praise he can give.
He treats Rudo like "promising material." He doesn't view him as an equal, but he recognizes the boy's potential and sometimes even pushes him to grow with tough methods.
He keeps to himself in the Raider squad. The other fighters are wary of him and try to stay out of his way, but they admit that in a tough fight they can rely on him—he won't run away or betray them as long as he's having fun.
Small but memorable details
Rings aren't just weapons, they're part of his persona. He wears exactly 10 rings, and each one is tied to his technique: they can extend, change shape, function as individual blades, or merge into a single attack.
He enjoys "rare sensations." For him, pain is a marker of a real fight: if he doesn't feel pain, it means the opponent is too weak.
He has almost no "peaceful" habits. Everything he does is somehow connected to a fight: he even views rest as a break between fights.
Part 1. Jabber
Jabber is a tall (183 cm), slender young man with light brown skin and bright pink eyes. He has chestnut-colored hair styled into long dreadlocks adorned with gold rings.
He wears an unusual outfit: a cream-colored crop top with wide sleeves and three different collars, a purple belt that resembles a cloak at the back, baggy dark purple pants with colorful panels, and cream-colored clogs. He wears ten silver rings on the fingers of both hands (these are his weapons).
Character
Jabber is a psychopath and masochist who literally lives for the fight. He enjoys not only inflicting pain but also receiving it: the more intense the fight, the happier he is. He often smiles during battles and becomes ecstatic when he encounters a truly powerful opponent.
He respects only those who can fight equally (like Zanku), and treats the weak with disdain, not even considering them worthy of attention. He also deliberately restrains his strength to make the fight more interesting and longer.
Role in the plot
A member of the Raiders, a frontline soldier. One of the most dangerous fighters in the squad.
The main antagonist of the Raider Trap arc, also appears in the Garbage Storm and Information Broker arcs.
He acts not out of lofty ideals, but for the sake of pure adrenaline - for him, the battle itself is a value.
Abilities and weapons
Vital Tool (Jinki) - Mankira (10 rings). When activated, the rings transform into sharp claws.
Poisons and Toxins: The claws on his right hand are laced with neurotoxins, while those on his left are laced with poisons. Jabber can replicate poisons from plants and animals, as well as mix them to create new compounds.
Superhuman durability: able to withstand serious injuries, get up after strong blows, and even escape from under rubble.
High speed and agility: moves so quickly that his movements are almost impossible to track; easily jumps over large obstacles and maneuvers in combat.
Power Control: Deliberately weakens his attacks to prolong the enjoyment of the battle.
Part 2. Tamsy
Abilities and weapons
A vital tool is the Tokushin spinning wheel. With it, Tamsi creates a web of threads: the more the enemy resists, the tighter the entanglement. He can wind the threads into a spool, completely immobilizing the enemy, and then suddenly unwind them, slamming them into the ground.
Creates a humanoid monster from threads. Tamsy controls it remotely as long as she holds the thread.
A book from the Guardians series. Grants power over memory: Tamsy is able to erase, alter, and replace people's memories, as if turning pages.
Travel between the Sphere and Earth. As an "Angel," he can cross the boundary between these worlds.
Part 1. Tamsie
Tamsy is a tall (around 180 cm), slightly muscular young man. He has long, light-colored hair with dark-blue streaks: the light streaks are pulled back into a voluminous bun, while the dark-blue streaks are styled into two long tassels with white clips.
Characteristic features:
eyes with an unusual structure - when abilities are activated, two layers (blue and yellow) appear in them, but in their normal state they look almost pupil-less;
a scar on the right side of the face - it goes from the eyebrow to the chest;
the upper half of the little finger on the right hand is missing;
Labret piercing under the lip.
He wears an unbuttoned white polo shirt, a dark blue tie, loose dark blue trousers, black boots with white soles, and a loose gray coat with stripes and a yellow button. He also carries a beige backpack with a mask. As "Angel," he conceals his body with a brown cloak and wears a gray mask and helmet.
Character and role in the plot
On the surface, Tamsy is a calm, friendly, and reliable member of the Eager Squad. He supports his comrades, tells the talkative Delmon to "shut up," maintains his cool in battle, and comes across as a loyal ally.
In reality, he is a cruel manipulator and one of the key antagonists. His goal is to push the protagonist, Rudo, to the brink, to "break" him, and use his pain as part of his plan. Tamsi cold-bloodedly murdered Regto and stole the Book of Guardians to destroy Rudo's "shell" and turn his suffering into power. He revels in others' suffering and deliberately fuels Rudo's inner conflict. Tamsi himself says, "I've been misunderstood my whole life. But now I'm not angry. I've become something greater. Something that will follow me into eternity."
