The Wayne Story

Thomas Wayne is a gifted surgeon and philanthropist from Gotham City. He inherited the family fortune from Patrick Wayne and dedicated himself to helping the poor and sick. Thomas spent large sums of money on charity, modernized the city, and promoted the construction of hospitals and schools. He worked at the hospital, treating patients for free, and provided humanitarian aid.

Martha Wayne (née Kane) was Thomas's wife and Bruce's mother. She came from a wealthy family that owned a chemical corporation. Martha was involved in charity work, organizing charity balls and events. In some stories, she headed a secret agency that, along with Commissioner Gordon and Alfred, combated child abuse and trafficking.

Bruce Wayne was born around February 19th. Until the age of nine (the age varies in different comic book versions), he grew up in the family mansion, Palisades, in the suburbs of Gotham City, as a privileged child.

A tragic moment in Bruce's life occurred when he and his parents were returning home from the cinema after watching "The Mark of Zorro." They were attacked by a mugger, Joe Chill, who attempted to steal Martha's pearl necklace. During the scuffle, Thomas was shot and killed, and Martha died trying to call for help. Bruce witnessed his parents' murders.

This event changed the boy's life forever. At his parents' funeral, he vowed to dedicate himself to fighting crime. After the deaths of Thomas and Martha, Bruce was raised by his butler, Alfred Pennyworth (who became his legal guardian), and his uncle, Philip Wayne.
Bruce began intensive training, studying martial arts, gymnastics, disguise, forensics, deductive reasoning, and other disciplines. At 14, he began attending courses at Cambridge, the Sorbonne, and other prestigious universities. At 18, Bruce embarked on a journey around the world, honing his skills. Returning at 25, he decided to find everyone involved in his parents' murder.

Bruce Wayne became Batman, a secret vigilante who renounced the use of weapons.

Wayne Manor

(In the cave is located:)
• There is also a batboat dock in the cave, located on the bank of an underground river.
• A special place in the estate’s infrastructure is occupied by the Trophy Room, where exhibits related to Batman’s enemies are collected: the Penguin’s umbrella, the Joker’s playing card, Two-Face’s coin, the Penguin’s collection of deadly umbrellas and other items.

The cave hub and the entire estate are powered by an autonomous nuclear generator, as well as an alternative energy source—a hydroelectric power station on an underground river.

History of the mansion:
The estate has been the Wayne family's ancestral home since 1914. The house originally belonged to railroad financier Jerome C. Van Derm. In 1858, he was forced to transfer the property to brothers Solomon and Zebediah Wayne. Solomon Wayne, a judge, expanded the estate to its current size and turned it into a family estate. The Waynes later used the estate as part of the Underground Railroad—a network of secret routes used to help fugitive slaves escape to the North and Canada.

Bruce Wayne lived in the estate with his parents, Thomas and Martha, and his butler, Alfred Pennyworth. After Thomas and Martha were murdered, Bruce and Alfred were left alone in the estate.

Over the years, the estate has been repeatedly invaded. Hired thugs working for Hugo Strange, Larissa Diaz (Copperhead), Reginald Payne, Theo Galavan (as Azrael), and Jeremiah Valeska, who ultimately destroyed the estate with explosives, have infiltrated it.

Ten years after Gotham's reunification with the mainland, the estate was restored.

Now the estate is a vibrant place, often visited by people dear to Bruce.
Permanent residents of the estate: Alfred, Bruce, Tim, Cassandra and Damian.

Wayne Manor

Wayne Manor is the ancestral home of the Wayne family, located within Gotham City. It has become not only the home of Bruce Wayne (Batman) but also the center of his superhero activities, as the secret Batcave is located beneath the manor.

Appearance:
The estate is a large building in the style of a Queen Anne colonial mansion. Situated on the outskirts of Gotham, it is surrounded by lush forest that extends north. A long gravel driveway leads to the estate, ending in wrought-iron gates.
A tall Gothic building that preserves history in its ancient interior.

Interior:
The interior of the estate is luxurious and uniquely stylish. It features:
• Multiple bedrooms and bathrooms. Some sources indicate that the main house had 7 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms.
• Two living rooms. “White” and “Green” living rooms.
• Library and rooms with art collections.
• Dining room and kitchen.
• Smoking room combined with a weapons room.
• Billiard room.
• Apartments for servants.
• Large terrace and garden in Italian style.
Martha Wayne filled the house with warm furnishings and flowers from the greenhouse. Many antiques, such as mahogany furniture, had been passed down through generations.

Batcave
Beneath the estate lies the Batcave, Batman's headquarters. Access is usually gained through a hidden mechanism: turning the hands of an old clock to show 10:47 (the time of Bruce Wayne's parents' death), which opens a secret door and a staircase leading down.

The cave contains:
• workshop and supercomputer;
a forensic laboratory with an electron microscope, ballistic analyzer and spectrometer for DNA analysis;
• gym;
• library;
• wardrobe with Batman and Robin costumes;
• a multi-level hangar for vehicles (cars, motorcycles, boats, helicopters, supersonic aircraft and a jet capsule for underground travel).

Gotham City 🌆

• Clock Tower. A strategic building that has served as a base for the Oracle and the Birds of Prey at various times.
• The Narrows. One of the poorest and most criminal areas of Gotham, where poverty and crime reign.

Gotham City is known as:
• A city that breeds villains. Its dark atmosphere and social problems create the breeding ground for supervillains. The murder of Bruce Wayne's parents in this city led to the emergence of Batman.
A place where fighting crime has become an integral part of life. Batman and his allies (Robin, Batgirl, Commissioner Gordon) constantly confront chaos, but defeating one enemy often leads to the emergence of a new one.
• A city of contrasts. Despite the crime, there are cultural institutions (theaters, museums, university), financial institutions (stock exchange, banks) and other signs of a major economic center.

Gotham City 🌆

Gotham is the most dangerous city, where crime is rampant. And the Bat-Family, vigilantes, are the only ones trying to bring order here.

Factors that aggravate the situation include:
• Organized Crime. Gotham is home to numerous crime families (Italian, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, etc.), as well as powerful criminal empires such as Black Mask and Intergang.
• Corruption. Much of the police, government, and other institutions are subservient to the mafia. Only a few officers, like Commissioner Gordon, remain loyal to the law.
Supervillains. The city is home to brilliant criminals with special abilities or resources, such as the Joker, Two-Face, the Riddler, the Penguin, and others.
• Gang warfare. The struggle for power and territory between criminal groups constantly provokes new outbreaks of violence.
• A place with a rich and dark history. According to one version, many millennia ago, a demon bat, whose evil essence poisoned the land, was buried alive in the city center. The city has experienced earthquakes, plagues, frosts, and other cataclysms.
Some iconic places in Gotham City:
• Arkham Asylum. A mental hospital housing the criminally insane, including the Joker, Two-Face, and the Riddler. It is known for its corruption and frequent patient escapes.
• Blackgate Penitentiary. The city's main correctional facility, located on Blackgate Island. Unlike Arkham, it houses ordinary criminals.
• Wayne Manor. The Wayne family building sits above the Batcave. It is Bruce Wayne's home and a symbol of his dual life as a businessman and a superhero.
• Crime Alley and the Monarch Theater. The place where Bruce Wayne's parents were murdered. Batman periodically returns here to honor their memory.
• Iceberg Lounge. A luxurious nightclub owned by the Penguin. Serves as a front for his illegal activities.
• Black Mask. Popular nightclub of Roman Sionis.

Bat-family 🦇

This is a team of Batman's students, most of whom are adopted directly by Batman himself.

Compound:
• Bruce Wayne
• Dick Grayson
