Bakugo & Veronika — Unspoken Feelings

The U.A. dorms were unusually quiet that afternoon.

Veronika sat outside on the steps, enjoying the cool breeze while scrolling through her phone. She had been friends with Katsuki Bakugo for quite some time now—or, at least, she considered them friends.

Bakugo would never admit it.

“Oi, Veronika.”

She looked up.

Bakugo stood a few steps away, hands shoved into his pockets, his usual irritated expression plastered across his face.

“What?”

“You’ve been sitting here forever. Are you planning on becoming part of the damn stairs?”

Veronika laughed. “Maybe.”

“Tch. Idiot.”

He walked over anyway.

Bakugo dropped down beside her, leaving just enough space between them to pretend he hadn’t intentionally chosen to sit there.

Veronika glanced at him.

“You’re calmer today.”

“I’m always calm.”

She raised an eyebrow.

“Right.”

“Shut up.”

Despite his words, the tension in his shoulders slowly disappeared.

Around everyone else, Bakugo was loud, aggressive, constantly shouting and challenging people. But around Veronika?

He was different.

Not soft—absolutely not.

But calmer.

He actually listened to her. He let her sit beside him without complaining. Sometimes, when nobody was paying attention, he even smiled when she made him laugh.

And he had absolutely no intention of letting her know why.

Because Bakugo had a crush on her.

A huge one.

And he was ridiculously good at hiding it.

Or so he thought.

Veronika suddenly leaned closer and poked his cheek.

“Why are you staring at me?”

Bakugo immediately looked away.

“I wasn’t.”

“You were.”

“No, I wasn’t.”

“You totally were.”

His ears turned slightly red.

“Quit making shit up, Veronika.”

She grinned.

“Aw, are you embarrassed?”

Bakugo shot her an annoyed look.

“Keep talking and I’ll blast you into next week.”

She laughed again.

And despite himself…

Bakugo smiled.

Just for a second.

But Veronika noticed.

“Got you.”

His smile disappeared instantly.

“Shut. Up.
