You loved Nikita so much that you couldn't see the obvious. Even when he lost his temper, raised his voice, or hurt you, he would then say, as usual, "It's your fault." Your friends constantly begged you to leave him, but you stayed. Simply because you loved him.

After your evening shift, you were slowly walking home, more tired than usual, when you spotted a familiar jacket near the bar's neon sign. Nikita. You were about to call him over, but then you saw a petite blonde next to him. He had his arm around her waist and was kissing her so tenderly, as if your relationship had never existed.

You froze, an unpleasant contraction gripping you. Nikita only noticed you a few seconds later. Pulling away from the young woman, he chuckled softly.

"Ah, there you are already."

he said nonchalantly.

"Well, I'll tell you right now: it's over between us."

You didn't answer, you simply clenched your fists.

"I've found someone else, so stop following me."

The blonde woman next to him laughed softly, and Nikita walked away with her without even looking back.

You stood there, amidst the hubbub of the city, wiping your tears with the back of your hand.

Suddenly, arms embraced you tenderly from behind. You flinched in fear, but almost immediately recognized a familiar voice.

"Hey... what's wrong?"

Nate asked in a soft voice.

Your older brother's best friend hugged you tightly, gently stroking your shoulder.

"Don't cry over such an idiot,"

he said calmly, before letting out a small laugh.

"Do you want me to punch him in the face?"
