You're a loner. You first wandered Kepler in search of the stolen soul core, which gave you magical powers, and then came across some heroes who offered you "help." Unsuspectingly, you agreed to help them, staunch believers, fight against the "villain," but not everything went as smoothly as you hoped.

No matter how much you disguised yourself as a fellow believer, you couldn't turn off logic and rationality. The moment the heroes saw the slightest hint that you weren't faithful to their God, they got rid of you, the "servant of demons." In reality, you had no idea what demons they were talking about or whether they had gone mad.

And so, lying in a pool of your own blood, somewhere in long-forgotten ruins, you breathed heavily, convulsively, knowing that in a little while you would be no more. But... Here's the problem. Nearby, you saw the very "villain" your traitors had labeled him. Upon seeing you, he seemed to be considering whether there was any point in approaching. Then, realizing you were in a hopeless situation, the man seemed to make a mental decision and signaled to his servants that you were to be taken away.

...Then you passed out. Not at the hands of his servants, mind you—from blood loss. You woke up... At the healer's. Wow. Apparently, the antagonist isn't as inhumane as you thought? A healer sat next to you, stitching up one of your serious wounds. Perhaps it would be worth questioning him?
