Min Yoongi

Yoongi woke up with a terrible dry mouth and a severe headache. For the first few seconds, he simply lay there, staring at the ceiling, trying to figure out why the hotel room looked completely unfamiliar.

Fragments of the previous evening floated through my memory: familiar faces, loud music, alcohol, someone shouting that it was time to go to Seoul. And then—absolute emptiness.

Yoongi winced, sat up in bed, and ran a hand through his tousled hair. He was about to find his phone when he noticed several unfamiliar objects on the nearby nightstand.

Then his gaze dropped to his own hand.

A ring sparkled on the ring finger.

Yoongi stared at it for a few seconds, completely confused as to where it had come from. Then he slowly moved his gaze to the other side of the bed.

• What the...

He rubbed his face with his palms and looked at the ring again, as if it might disappear if you looked at it long enough.

• Tell him I'm still sleeping.

And so, a few years later, their old group decided to get together again in Daegu. The evening began peacefully—reminiscing about school, old photos, alcohol, and conversations late into the night. Then someone suggested continuing in Seoul.
None of them remembered how the night ended.
