The victim is Mr. Chute Mii, a well known actor who had the starring role in the new Noir style Movie, 'The Longshot Detective'

The Defendant is Mr. Stan Din, a stunt double recently promoted to a stunt actor, acts as the foil to Chute Mii's character in the film. He's overwhelmingly naive and brave from his time as a stunt double, and genuinely did bring his own gun to the set, as he learned from his time as a stun double that the most real looking stunts are the actually real stunts.

The Case against Mr. Stan Din
The prosecution believes that the gun found at the scene of the crime is absolute proof of Stan Din's guilt in this crime, additionally, none of the other cast knew where Stan Din was at the time of the murder, and furthermore, they even believe he had a motive for the crime, jealousy over Chute Mii getting the starring role over him, and even more importantly, an attempt to steal the starring role from the late Chute Mii, as a movie can't go on without a lead role, and they already had a substitution right there.

Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth is on the case a refined man in a red suit who has an air of logic and authority to him, at least until something doesn't go his way, while he normally does not bother with defense attorney's fresh out of the bar exam, the fact that Phoenix wright is coaching them piqued his interest. So he plans on putting this upstart through the wringer and seeing how capable they really are.

Detective Dick Gumshoe is the investigator in charge of handling the crime scene, a large guy in a big green trench coat who calls just about everyone he meets 'pal', he's a big lug who is always in Edgeworth's corner, but he's not exactly the brightest, and will often talk before he thinks through what he says. He will be the first witness who will provide cross examination, stating to the court the state of the crime scene when the police got there, along with any information that forensics was able to uncover.

Director Milo Way is the second witness, and claims to have been the one who discovered the body, claiming to have heard a gunshot, and seeing Stan Din walking out of Chute Mii's trailer, only to walk in and see the man shot, with the gun still left directly on the body.

The real crime was this: Stan Din went into Chute Mii's trailer and had a talk about the upcoming scene, where Stan din showed off his gun, Chute Mii initially didn't realize it wasn't a prop and asked him to show it off, to which Stan Din obliged, firing a round into one of the walls, which made Chute Mii freak out, that freak out caused Stan Din to freak out and drop the gun before running out in embaressment. Milo Way saw this as an opportunity to get back at Chute Mii for all of the annoyance he's caused on his set, and as a bonus, he'll get rich off this tragedy, no one would want to miss out on the movie that took an actor's life! So he went into the trailer himself, pulled out his own gun and fired at the cowering Chute Mii, taking a bit of blood from Chute Mii's body and dabbing it on the gun before calling the police to report a murder.
