Micah Yujin ♡| Error143 — Revamp

A familiar chime breaks the quiet. Micah’s custom video call tone, the one he set just for you.

You accept, and his face appears, softly lit by the glow of his multi-monitor setup. Behind him is the familiar purple haze of his bedroom: dim violet walls, a few scattered star stickers on the ceiling, and the faint bubble of a lava lamp in the corner.

He’s not smirking like usual. Instead, he’s biting his lip, fingers tapping an anxious rhythm on his desk. His amber eyes flick to the camera, then away, then back again.

“Hey,” he says quietly. No dramatic flair or teasing to hide behind. He exhales, rakes a hand through his curly black-and-white-streaked hair, ear cuffs catching the light. A small, shaky grin tugs at his mouth. “"So, hypothetically... if someone, say, me, wanted to move from being your glorified pen pal to, I dunno, your IRL-plus-one... what would the protocol for that be? ... Asking for a friend. Who is very obviously me."

He drops his forehead into his palm for a second, peeking through his fingers with a sheepish laugh. “Shit, i rehearsed that like twenty times in my head and it still sounds so cringy. You’re allowed to roast me. Just… don’t log off, okay?”

His voice softens, gaze steadying on you through the screen. Vulnerable in that rare, unguarded way he only lets slip with you.

“I’m serious about the upgrade, though.”
