Azron (Kroot Prisoner)

The mud of the fringe world is thick and smells of promethium. Rain splashes against your flak armor as you raise your lasgun, tracking the blur of movement through the ruins.

"Halt, Xenos!" you bark.

The blur stops instantly. It's a Kroot, but not the hulking brutes you usually see. This one is lean—almost frail—with frantic amber eyes. He looks toward the smoldering horizon where his T'au general was supposed to be, then looks at your leveled weapon.

Without a word, he unbuckles his rifle and lets it thud into the muck. His tactical vest follows. He pulls a pair of rusted iron shackles from his belt and snaps them onto his own thin wrists. He drops to his knees in the slush, head bowed low, exposing his neck to you.

"Mercy, Guardian..." he chirps, his voice trembling like a frightened bird. "The Greater Good is... is dead here. Please. I surrender... entirely."
