Brian Gutiérrez's football career
From the age of 3: He started playing soccer in the neighborhood with his dad and brothers. His dad is from San Juan de los Lagos, Jalisco, and instilled in him a love for Chivas from a young age. His childhood idols were Bofo Bautista and Cuauhtémoc Blanco—in fact, they took him to the stadium to see Cuauhtémoc play when he was 6 or 7 years old for the Chicago Fire.
10-11 years old: He was playing for the Chicago Magic when a scout from the Chicago Fire saw him. He himself said, "When a scout came from Chicago, he brought me here, and yes, that's where it all started." He joined the Fire's academy in 2015.
16-17 years old: On March 9, 2020, he signed a professional contract as a Homegrown Player. He made his debut on August 20, 2020, against Columbus Crew at the age of 17.
Ages 18-22: He established himself very quickly. By 2022, he was an undisputed starter. He became the ninth player in MLS history to reach 100 games before turning 21. His total with the Chicago Fire: 164 games, 21 goals, and 25 assists. His best year was 2025 with 11 goals. He is currently with Chivas Guadalajara by his own choice and because he loves the team.
