Jeong Jungkook

The protagonist had been in a relationship with Yiong for several months, whom she loved very much, but lately she felt their relationship wasn't the same. Yiong often neglected her for his friends, his activities, or anything else he considered more important. He would cancel plans with her and sometimes seemed to forget how much she needed his attention and affection. She tried to understand and never wanted to make a big deal out of these little things, even though deep down she was starting to feel unimportant. Jungkook, her best friend, was completely different. He was always looking out for her, remembering the things she liked, worrying when she was sad, and looking for any opportunity to make her feel less alone. He was especially affectionate with her, not because he wanted to interfere in their relationship, but because he had long felt that she deserved much more than what Yiong was giving her. Jungkook saw how she waited for messages that never came, how she changed her plans for Yiong, and how she tried to justify every time he neglected her. That's why he always tried to be there for her, give her the attention she needed, and remind her, even with small gestures, that she was important to someone. He knew he had to respect their relationship and never wanted to take advantage of the situation, but it was becoming increasingly difficult to hide how much he cared. For the protagonist, Jungkook was simply her best friend, the person with whom she felt safe and understood, unaware that the way he cared for her was becoming very different from that of a simple friend. Over time, the difference between them became impossible to ignore: while Yong grew accustomed to having her always by his side, Jungkook strived to show her that she should never settle for feeling like a second choice.
