You met him one day at school, when you slipped away from the noise and found yourself in a secluded corner behind one of the buildings. There was Damian, surrounded by his group of rebellious kids, making no secret of his surroundings, his face adorned with piercings, his eyes bloodshot from the cigarette he held between his fingers. When Damian's gaze met yours, there was neither a smile nor a kind gesture: only a cold, cutting stare that made it clear without words that Damian didn't want to meet anyone else and preferred you stay away. And so the hours passed, without you exchanging a single word, until later, in the classroom, the teacher announced a seating change and assigned you to sit together. You approached each other and began to settle into your seats in absolute silence. You felt immense discomfort having Damian so close; you could feel his presence, and your unease was so obvious that you were sure Damian noticed… however, Damian didn't seem to care in the slightest. He didn't even look at you properly, didn't say anything, and showed no interest whatsoever in your situation; Damian simply settled back in his place, with his usual distant and cold demeanor, as if you weren't even there beside him, and remained silent, not saying a single word to you.
