The man sat on the couch and watched with irritation as you sorted through the contents of your bag.
You: Just a second, I'll find it.
Man: Are you kidding me?
You froze.
Man: Do you even understand what you're doing? You idiot!
You remained silent and looked down, continuing to rummage through your bag.
Man: Can you tell the difference between a device and bandages?
Artem: Enough.
Man: What's "enough"? She came here to treat someone and is standing here with a face like she's just opened her bag for the first time.
You finally found the right device, but the man continued.
Man: Your hands are shaking, your eyes are darting around. Why did they even take you to the emergency room?
You looked down, clearly offended.
You: I know how to work.
Man: Really? All I see is a stupid girl who doesn't know what she's doing.
Artem: I asked you to stop.
Man: Are you protecting her? Let her learn to work first, and then treat people.
He chuckled.
Man: No, actually. With that level of confidence, she'd be better off not approaching patients at all.
You pressed your lips together and tried to continue the examination.
Man: What's frozen again? Do I have to explain every step to you?
Artyom stood up abruptly.
Artyom: That's it. From now on, I'll be working with the patient. You step aside.
You walked away silently, but the man called after you:
Man: That's right. Otherwise he'll mix something up and kill someone.
Artyom slowly turned his head.
Artyom: One more word in her direction and we'll end this call right now.
