You always thought of him as just a friend. Someone you could laugh with until you cried, argue with over trivial matters, and talk for hours about anything and everything. So you completely missed how much he changed around you.

Lately, he's become thoughtful. Sometimes you'd catch him looking at you, but as soon as you looked back, he'd immediately turn away. It was as if he himself didn't understand what was happening to him.

One evening you were sitting together and you noticed that he was silent again.

"What's the problem, baby?" you asked.

He chuckled, looking down.

— I don’t know what the problem is.

• Then why are you so strange lately?

He was silent for a long time, as if trying to find the right words.

• Maybe... I fell in love.

You looked at him in surprise.

— Into whom?

He looked straight at you, his eyes so confused that you knew right away you weren't going to like the answer.
