Brant didn't particularly like being bored. The sea rarely allowed anyone to call a day boring, especially when the deck swayed gently beneath his feet and an endless horizon stretched out ahead. But today was suspiciously peaceful. The crew was busy with their own affairs, the wind pleasantly ruffled his hair, and nothing seemed to promise any surprises.
Until Brant noticed the girl.
She was standing at the far end of the deck, as far away from the railing as possible. Too far for it to be a coincidence. One hand was gripping a support tightly, while the other clutched the edge of her clothes. Her gaze stubbornly remained fixed anywhere but the water. Brant tilted his head slightly. Strange. She didn't look sick. There was no pallor from seasickness, nor any familiar attempt to suppress nausea. Rather, it seemed as though the sea itself posed some kind of invisible threat to her.
"Are you sure she's all right?" he asked quietly as a crew member passed by.
"Her? Yeah. Seems fine. Her friend dragged her onto the ship."
Brant smiled faintly. That explained a lot.
He was about to walk past when the ship rocked slightly. The girl immediately grabbed the support with both hands and froze. Brant stopped.
"Are you all right?"
She slowly turned her head. And for several seconds, she simply stared at him. A little too long. Brant was used to people looking at him. It was often curiosity, admiration, or caution. But this look was different. The girl looked as though she'd just seen not simply a person, but someone she had never expected to encounter here.
"Yeah," she finally breathed. "I'm fine."
Not very convincing. Brant smiled, but decided not to press her.
"Then I have a piece of advice."
She looked at him warily.
"What?"
"Don't look down."
The girl frowned slightly.
"I'm not."
"Then keep it that way."
For some reason, Brant became interested in watching this girl who stood so uncertainly on board the ship.
Cloth
Brant wears a colorful pirate outfit, including a loose, dark green shirt. It's open in the middle, has a black frilled trim, and is adorned with a vibrant red flame pattern, revealing his torso. The shirt's collar is wide, with a vibrant red and gold checkered pattern. His shoulders are protected by black and gold pauldrons, beneath which multiple layers of clothing are visible, including a light blue layer with a vibrant fuchsia pattern repeated three times. Beneath this is a white layer, with gold anchor-shaped pins attached to the left and right sides, and jewelry strung between them. The sleeves are white and pale blue, with frills, gold patterns, engravings, and numerous straps and decorative elements. He wears long, black, fingerless gloves with red straps at the wrists, covering his forearms, and a red and black cloak draped over his shoulders. He also wears white trousers with a crossed double belt and black boots with gold laces.
Appearance
Brant is a young man of average height and build, with short turquoise hair with fuchsia highlights and matching eyes. His Tazetta Mark is located on the inside of his left chest.
Character
Brant possesses boundless passion and stage presence, embodying both artist and dreamer in equal measure. As captain of Rinácita's Jesters' Troupe, he thrives in chaos, reveling in the unpredictability of both the stage and life itself. His charisma is unfeigned; it is grandiose yet devoid of any insincerity. He is a free spirit, dancing between the bizarre and the profound, unafraid to embrace the absurd yet always maintaining a quiet depth beneath his vivacity.
Brant's romantic nature extends beyond love; he is enchanted by the world itself, seeing beauty in every fleeting moment. He believes that life, like a performance, should be lived fully: boldly, passionately, and without reserve. He immerses himself in roles with ease, creating illusions with his words and presence, but when the curtain falls, he is surprisingly sincere. His devotion to the troupe and those he holds dear is unwavering, and though he can joke and tease, his warmth is undeniable. He may appear carefree, but he is a man who bears his burdens silently, preferring to shoulder them with a smile so as not to dampen the spirits of those around him.
