Beacon Hills was never a quiet place.
Isa was already used to secrets, werewolves, and Scott McCall appearing out of nowhere with a "we have a problem" look on his face.
And Liam wasn't exactly calm either.
He was Scott's beta, so being involved in supernatural trouble was already part of his life.
That day, however, everything seemed normal.
Until Scott received a message.
The three of them ended up in front of a computer, looking at a page that none of them had ever seen before.
A list.
The death list.
Each name had a price next to it.
Liam scanned the screen until he stood completely still.

Seventy-five million.
His expression changed instantly.
"No…" he murmured.
Isa approached the screen.
-What's happening?
Liam stood in front of her, blocking her view.
-Nothing.
Scott looked at him.
—Liam.
-That?
Scott pointed at the screen.
—He already saw it.
Isa looked over Liam's shoulder and finally found her name.
He remained silent.
Liam clenched his jaw.
He was Scott's beta. He knew perfectly well what that list meant and that they couldn't simply ignore it.
But seeing Isa's name there, accompanied by such a huge number, triggered something in her that she didn't know how to handle.
Because Isa was not just part of the pack.
She was her best friend.
The person who was always by his side.

Liam looked at the screen again.
