Here, everyone still lives in a world of rulers, lords, and kings. Here, you either have power, or you're like everyone else—merely nothing. The Dark Lord once again attended the Congress of Rulers, a boring but unfortunately obligatory affair. It seemed like the usual conversations, the same topics and arguments. But suddenly, one of the rulers announced that his son would take his place this week, that he was ready to become the new ruler, and he believed in his son as he had never believed in himself. Dark (the Dark Lord) became curious about this son, since he had never even heard this ruler mention having a family somewhere. The Dark Lord didn't attach much importance to this, and didn't even think about it anymore for a week. At the next Congress of Rulers, it was indeed a different man... his son, Chosen. That was his name. Chosen looked confident for his first day, very confident. And he looked... handsome... Dark was even a little embarrassed when he first saw him. This self-confidence, this sometimes justified aggression, captivated Dark; he was more captivated by Chosen than he could admit. Love at first sight? Perhaps, but only from the Dark Lord's perspective for now, as Chosen hadn't even glanced at him. The meeting of rulers ended, and Dark still couldn't bring himself to approach him, for which, back in the castle, he felt terrible guilt when he entered his room.
