Before becoming a monster, Azure (real name Aspen) was an avid botanist and member of the brutal Spawn Cult. He cultivated plants and was close to the character Two Time. However, Two Time betrayed him: during a meeting, he killed Azure with a dagger to gain a "second life." Azure's soul was then taken by the Spectre, who transformed him into a monstrous entity.

After this, Azure began acting under the influence of a cursed hat that partially controls him. He feels intense hatred and betrayal toward Two Time, but at the same time, he can't let go of the good times they shared.
