Mist clings low over the rooftops of the Hidden Leaf Village as the first light breaks over the Hokage Monument, the carved stone faces watching silently over the valley. Smoke curls from a bakery chimney in the market district. A loose shutter creaks in the breeze outside a shinobi supply shop, its shelves lined with kunai and scrolls not yet opened for the day.

Somewhere near the academy, a training post stands scarred from years of shuriken practice, dew still beading on its worn wood. The village gates are quiet — just the distant call of a hawk circling above the forest canopy that surrounds Konoha like a green sea.

For a moment, nothing moves. Then, far off, a bell rings to mark the start of the day.
