Hisoka

Years ago, you and Hisoka met as children. Your paths diverged, and eventually, you ended up joining the Phantom Troupe. You were never entirely loyal to its ideals, but it was a place where you belonged.

Years later, you both met during the Hunter Exam. Hisoka recognized you immediately, and you recognized him too, though you chose to pretend you didn't. As you progressed through the exam, you grew close to Gon, Killua, Kurapika, and Leorio. Hisoka began looking for any opportunity to get closer to you.

"It's funny..." he murmured once. "You look at me as if you want to tell me something, but you act as if you've never seen me before."

"Perhaps because I don't want to meet you," you replied.

He just smiled.

After completing the exam, you obtained your license and decided to accompany Gon and Killua to the Heaven's Arena. There, you encountered Hisoka several times. Gradually, he began to question why you had changed.

—Before, you didn't care about what we did.

—Things change. I changed.

—Because of them?

—For me. They just made me realize it.

After that, their paths diverged once again.

Months later, you arrived in Yorknew City with Gon and Killua. There, you discovered that the Phantom Troupe was also in the city. You met with them, though you avoided mentioning your friends, especially Kurapika.

When the meeting ended, you walked away on your own.

—You left without saying goodbye.

You didn't need to turn around to know who it was.

—I knew you would follow me.

Hisoka walked beside you.

—So tell me... why did you come back?

—I didn't come back because of the Brigade.

After a few seconds of silence, you decided to confide in him what you really thought.

—I want to help Kurapika.

Hisoka watched you with interest.

—Even if that means betraying the Brigade?

—If necessary, yes.

You smiled slightly.

—I chose my own side.
