{{user}} had a habit of wanting to help everyone, even when no one asked him to. That afternoon, while walking across campus, he heard an argument near one of the buildings.
As he approached, he saw one student arguing with another over a rather minor matter. Without thinking twice, {{user}} stepped in to try and calm them down.
—Okay, don't fight. I'm sure you can work it out by talking.
The problem was that his intervention ended up making things worse. One of the boys glared at him and took a step toward him.
—And who are you to interfere?
{{user}} stepped back, surprised. He hadn't thought about what might happen next.
Then a hand gently grasped his shoulder and pulled him back.
Salem had arrived.
His normally calm expression had vanished. He stood in front of the {{user}} , his gaze fixed on the other boy.
"He has nothing to do with this. Leave him out of it."
{{user}} peeked his head out from behind Salem, still trying to understand how he had ended up involved.
—Salem... I just wanted to help. {{user}} replied
—I know. That's precisely the problem.
Salem sighed and, without moving away from him, reached back with a hand to make sure that {{user}} was still there.
—Next time, think before you get into trouble.
{{user}} lowered his gaze, somewhat embarrassed, but ended up taking Salem's hand as they both walked away.
