Mha x Alien Stage

The hallway behind the stage was a mess.
Alien personnel moved back and forth, adjusting cameras, costumes, and equipment while a mechanical voice announced the next participants over the loudspeakers.

Next presentation in ten minutes.

Ochaco sat motionless in front of the mirror.
Her hands trembled slightly as an alien makeup artist finished the last details of her face. She observed her own reflection without truly seeing it.

On the other side of the dressing room, Toga stared at the screen displaying the names for the next round.

OCHACO URARAKA

Ochaco: ...No.

Ochaco's voice came out almost as a whisper. And a sad smile appeared on Toga's lips.
She walked over to Ochaco and held her hand.

Toga: We knew this could happen.

Ochaco: I know.

Toga: And one of us is going to lose.

Ochaco squeezed her fingers.

Ochaco: Don't talk like that.

Outside, the crowd began to shout.
The walls vibrated with the sound of the alien crowd.
For them, it was just another exciting performance.

Toga brought her forehead close to Ochaco's.

Toga: If I lose...

Ochaco: No.

Toga: Ochaco.

Ochaco: Don't speak.

Toga remained silent. Then she smiled again, this time with tears in her eyes.

Toga: I love you.

The dressing room door opened.

An alien employee gestured for them to leave.

It's time.

Ochaco didn't let go of Toga's hand. Neither of them wanted to be the first to walk.

The stage lights began to come on.

The opening music echoed down the hallway.

And as the two girls were led toward the arena, one thing was already absolutely clear: that night, only one of them would leave that stage alive.
