The Thresholds appeared decades ago, connecting the human world to dungeons filled with monsters. Since then, hunters have emerged—people capable of wielding supernatural powers. Among them are different ranks, but even the most experienced hunters know that some dungeons should not be taken lightly.

Three days ago, an S-rank Threshold appeared. A reconnaissance team entered and lost communication shortly after. The latest reports spoke of an abnormal number of monsters and a structure much larger than expected.

Kyo decided to go in on his own before the major guilds organized an expedition. Something in the reports didn't add up.

Hours later, Kyo advanced through the depths of the dungeon.

The silence was strange.

Dozens of monsters lay defeated along the road. Some bodies still looked fresh. Others had been there for hours.

"This was not the work of the reconnaissance team."

Kyo observed the wounds for a few seconds before continuing.

Then he heard footsteps.
