Later, Osamu realizes they got a little too wild with their last play. After losing, the twins try to apologize for losing the final point, but Kita dismisses their attempt. Kita tells them their last play wasn't a mistake, but rather a consequence of their opponent. When Kita expresses how proud he is of his teammates and his regret at not being able to play with them longer, both Atsumu and Osamu affirm that they will be teammates Kita would be proud of.

Despite extending his leadership, Osamu recognizes the changing atmosphere within Karasuno. He has been silently observing Hinata for some time and finally voices his thoughts to Atsumu. Osamu compares Hinata's passion for the sport to a meal and acknowledges how contagious hunger can be for teammates. True to his observation, Karasuno regains its composure and soon catches up with Inarizaki.
With the game ticking down to its final points, Osamu is shown to be just as, if not more, enthusiastic than Atsumu. Despite being less than enthusiastic about the divine quickness at first, Osamu is now the one initiating the attack and pressuring Atsumu to throw him the ball. Atsumu thoroughly enjoys his brother's hunger to score and decides there's no one better to use as bait to annoy Osamu. When they see the Karasuno receivers out of formation after returning a near-impossible ball, the twins take advantage of the momentary confusion to attempt a back-to-back attack with less time. The surprise attack catches Karasuno off guard, but it's ultimately shut down when Hinata and Kageyama successfully block it, giving Karasuno the starting point.

After this play, Osamu mentions that he suddenly feels hungry because of Atsumu's confusion. After Karasuno took the first set, Inarizaki turned up the heat and overwhelmingly dominated their opponents. When Atsumu got the first touch of a chance point, Osamu acted as a backup setter to set up a quick Suna, demonstrating how the Miya brothers complement each other on the court. However, he and his teammates began to show signs of instability once Karasuno started to apply pressure. When Atsumu taunted Osamu for beating him in service aces, Osamu became agitated enough to lose control of his serve and hit him hard. Inarizaki finally regained his composure and won the second set after their captain, Kita, submitted.
In the third set, Osamu continued to display his all-around prowess. He successfully received a jump float serve from pinch server Kinoshita, ending Karasuno's serve in one turn. He and Atsumu finally forced Karasuno into a corner when Osamu hit a shorter toss to Atsumu. With Inarizaki gaining momentum, the twins continued to make bold and aggressive plays. Almost in response to Tsukishima's quick limiting and blocking, Osamu again tossed to Aran after Atsumu sent him a first-touch toss. The play successfully deceived the Karasuno blockers when Aran fired a spike to open up space. The spike ended up being received by Hinata and resulted in a long, hard-fought rally that concluded with a lucky inning for Inarizaki.

Osamu made his first appearance with the Inarizaki team on the second day of the Spring Tournament when they faced Karasuno. During his turn to serve, Osamu waited the full eight seconds before serving. His serve was perfectly received by Nishinoya, resulting in a point for Karasuno. Later, though reluctant, Osamu executed the quick God-Like, with his brother Atsumu delivering the ball to his exact spot. When Aran commented on the trust between the brothers, Osamu denied that it was trust, saying it wasn't necessary, as he simply knew the ball would reach him.
The twins continue to score with their new quick until Tsukishima shuts it down. After Tsukishima spins back, Osamu finds himself in a 1-on-1 with Hinata's commitment blocking him. Although Hinata manages to block Osamu once, Osamu quickly gains the upper hand, and his spikes easily bypass Hinata's block. The two players end up in a fair battle at the edge of the net, with Osamu dominating. [3] Later, Osamu is seen half-executing a running shot attempt, as he is only acting as a decoy. Atsumu overhears this and accuses him of being afraid of Hinata's blocks. Osamu denies it but is surprised when Hinata suddenly asks if he's serious. On his next quick attack attempt, Osamu is forced to hit a ladder when Hinata chokes on his way to a cross-court shot. His spike is caught and ultimately results in Karasuno's break as they employ their mix-up and distract tactic.

Osamu lives in Hyogo Prefecture and attends Inarizaki Junior High School with his twin brother. He is currently a second-year student and a member of his school's boys' volleyball team.

Along with his brother, Osamu has been playing volleyball since elementary school. In fourth grade, the twins attended a volleyball workshop where they met their current teammate, Aran. They thought foreign-sounding names were cool and came up with the nicknames 'Samu' and 'Tsumu' for each other.

When asked if he wanted to be a setter, Osamu declined, saying he preferred to spike. Despite this, he was chosen to be the setter for his junior high school team until Atsumu surpassed him. According to Aran, Osamu was the more skilled of the twins, with Atsumu constantly challenging him.

Osamu is almost always seen with his twin brother, Atsumu. As such, Osamu is familiar with all of Atsumu's habits, including Atsumu's tendency to lie and never return borrowed items. Like brothers, they bicker and fight quickly, but they get over it just as fast. Osamu is frequently seen teasing his brother, especially when Atsumu makes a mistake in a match. They are each other's biggest rivals and constantly push each other without even realizing it. However, Osamu recognizes that Atsumu's passion for volleyball burns brighter than his own, and he is at peace with himself when only Atsumu was selected for the All-Japan Youth Intensive Training Camp. Their mutual nicknames, 'Samu' and 'Tsumu,' originated when they met Ojiro Aran in fourth grade because they wanted to sound foreign.

The two faced off when Hinata was assigned to block Osamu's Twin Rapid Attack. Although initially caught off guard, Osamu quickly gained the upper hand in both spikes and net play. After Hinata adjusted and modified his tactics to successfully counter Inarizaki, Osamu remarked that he felt a little hungry. He continued to observe Hinata throughout the match and concluded that Hinata's playing style was similar to eating rice/food. Osamu recognized Hinata's hunger for the sport and was aware of how contagious that hunger could be for other players.

Osamu gets along well with the rest of his teammates, enough so that he and Atsumu can play pranks on them. Their usual target is Aran, who typically plays the straight man in the twins' jokes. Osamu and the others are terrified by Kita's cold logic. However, deep down, he has nothing but respect and admiration for Kita.

It is said that "even if you knock down Atsumu Miya, his twin Osamu will be there to pick up the slack." [4] Despite being a wing attacker, Osamu proves to be just as capable as a setter. He has demonstrated the ability to set up the Twins' Quick Attack Time Minus Time: Reverse with his twin Atsumu and even reset a toss aimed at him while transitioning from spike form. When Atsumu and Osamu were fourth graders, they found Ojiro Aran cool because of his foreign-sounding name.
The Miya brothers went to the same high school as Ojiro Aran. Although Coach Ukai listed Osamu, and by extension Atsumu, as 16 years old, the Miya twins should have already turned 17 by Spring Interhigh due to their October birthdays.

Osamu appears to be the calmer of the Miya twins with a laid-back and deadpan personality. Despite his outward demeanor, Osamu is highly competitive and gets heated even if it's not obvious on the surface. However, with enough provocation, he gets angry and physical. In that state, he drops his filter and starts spewing profanities. So far, his brother is the only person who made him feel this emotional. Osamu has also shown to have a strong passion for food. He thinks about it often in the middle of a match and gets distracted by the smell. He can't seem to pick a favorite food and doesn't know what to eat as his last meal. Like his brother, he loses self-control when it comes to eating. In his second year, he decided to quit volleyball to pursue a food-related occupation, which is how he ended up establishing Onigiri Miya. He has been shown to have a sense of humor, especially regarding Atsumu, who Osamu teases whenever he messes up.

He has a large build and is very similar in appearance to his brother, showing that they are likely identical twins. Osamu's hair is dyed grey and his bangs are flipped to his left side.
