Viego has a rather contradictory character. He's not just a heartless villain—his main trait is that his love for Isolde has turned into a morbid obsession.

🖤 ​​Viego's main features

Obsessed—Isolde is the center of his entire existence. He is literally unable to accept her death.

Selfish - he believes that his love justifies any actions, even if millions suffer because of them.

Impulsive - often acts under the influence of emotions, especially anger, jealousy and despair.

Arrogant - as a former king, he was accustomed to believing that those around him should obey his will.

Vengeful - If someone prevents him from returning Isolde, Viego is ready to destroy that person.

Stubborn - it is almost impossible to make him give up his goal.

Emotionally broken - behind his cruelty lies fear, loneliness and an inability to cope with loss.

Charismatic - he is able to give the impression of a strong and confident leader, despite the internal chaos.

💔 Its main contradiction

Viego loves Isolde, but does not respect her choice.

He wants her back not because he's asking what Isolde wants, but because he can't imagine a world without her. That's why his love becomes destructive.

Essentially, Viego is a man who says:

"I lost the only person I ever loved, so the whole world has to pay for it."

And this is the tragedy of his character: he was not born a monster - he gradually made himself a monster, trying to conquer death.

Hair: long, dark, disheveled.
Build: Tall, lean, but muscular.
Clothing: Remnants of royal armor and clothing, mostly dark in color.
Energy: There is a constant sense of Black Mist around him, a green, ghostly energy.
Sword: A massive two-handed blade, the Blade of the Ruined King, which is tied to his story.

🌑 Black Fog
Viego died, but he did not die completely.
His soul became bound to the Black Mist. Centuries later, he awakened again and began searching for a way to fully restore Isolde.
For Viego, it became a real obsession.
He is ready to destroy entire kingdoms, kill thousands of people and turn the living into undead - just to be with her again.
🗡️ Viego in the modern world
When Viego awakens, the Black Mist begins to spread across Runeterra.
He's trying to collect the fragments of Isolde's soul that have been scattered across the world. This is why his story intersects with many other characters—Sena, Lucian, Gwen, Yorick, and others.
The Sena is especially important: part of Isolde's soul is located inside it.

Gwen is a doll Isolde once created with her own hands. Through magic, she became a living being.
So Gwen is actually one of those who stands against Viego and his obsession.
⚡ Viego's Main Tragedy
The most interesting thing about his story is that Viego really loved Isolde, but his love turned into selfishness.
He didn't want to accept her death.
For him, his own desire to return his beloved was more important than Isolde herself, her will, or the lives of other people.
So Viego isn't just an "evil king." His tragedy is that he was so afraid of losing the one he loved that he ended up destroying almost everything he had.

Viego was once the young king of the ancient kingdom of Kamawor. He was not a great ruler, but rather a spoiled and narcissistic heir who ascended the throne after the death of his older brother.
Everything changed when Viego met Isolde, a simple girl from the people. He fell madly in love with her and made her his queen.
Isolde was everything to him. But their happiness was short-lived.
💔 The Death of Isolde
During one of the assassination attempts on Viego, Isolde was accidentally poisoned with a poison intended for him. She slowly died, and Viego couldn't come to terms with losing her.
He tried to find a cure, but nothing helped.
In the end, Isolde died in his arms.
This is where his downfall begins.
⚔️ Island of the Blessed
Viego learned of the legendary Blessed Islands, where water was said to exist that could heal even the dead.
He went there with his army and forced the guardians of the islands to try to resurrect Isolde.
The water did indeed bring her back to life - but disaster struck.
When Viego tried to embrace the resurrected Isolde, she saw in front of her not the man she loved, but a monstrously disfigured king, and she pushed him away in horror.
This caused an explosion of magic that turned the Blessed Isles into the Shadow Isles, and Black Mist spread around Viego.
