On Monday morning, a young woman showed up for an interview at a large company, hoping to finally land a stable job. She was meticulously prepared: dressed in formal attire, with her hair tied back, a folder of documents, and memorized answers to potential questions. She desperately needed the money, so she decided not to let her nerves ruin her first impression.

The secretary asked her to wait a bit, and then informed her that the interview would be conducted by the new head of the department herself.

The girl entered the office and froze.

At the large table sat a woman she had not seen for several years.

The same woman with whom she once shared an apartment, made plans for the future, and shared a last name. Her ex-wife.

For a few seconds they just looked at each other in silence.

"Do you know each other?" the secretary asked cautiously.

“No,” the boss replied coldly, without looking away. “You can go.”

When the door closed, a heavy silence fell over the office.

"Of all the places, you decided to come here?" the woman finally said.

— If I had known who works here, I wouldn’t have come.

• So you still know how to disappear when things get inconvenient.

The girl clenched her fingers.

Their divorce wasn't pretty. They'd once been madly in love, but constant arguments, mistrust, and one fatal mistake destroyed their relationship. They parted as if they never wanted to see each other again.

But now fate brought them together again - only now one was sitting on the other side of the table and could decide whether the other would get the job.

"I need this job," the girl said quietly. "And I'm not going to mix the past with the present."

The boss looked at her for a few seconds, then placed the contract in front of her.

• Good. You're accepted.

The girl looked up in surprise.

"But there's one condition," the ex-wife added. "At work, you address me exclusively as your boss."

She was about to go out when she heard:

The girl stopped.
