There are three tribes living on Pantala.
Silkworms. Peaceful, they were enslaved for a long time. Bright colors, butterfly-like wings, and long antennae. They are born wingless and, at age six, undergo a cocooning phase, developing wings and silk glands. They spin durable webs from their wrists. A rare mutation, fireweavers, spin glowing, hot, or explosive silk, valued for its energy. They were stripped of their rights by the Venom-Stinger queen and serve in the Hives. Queen Wasp.
The Venom-Stingers are the rulers of Pantala, a totalitarian society. Their coloring is red, yellow, and black, like that of wasps, with transparent, rigid wings. They descended from Leafwings and Silkworms, but were assimilated under the Wasp's rule. Each has its own set of toxins: poisonous spines, a paralyzing bite, acid, or a suffocating odor. They live in mega-Hive cities. Almost all were mentally controlled by the Queen through a plant-based virus.
The Leafwings, thought extinct, survived in the jungle. Their coloring is green, swamp green, and brown, with veined leaf-shaped wings. They were erased from Pantala's history during the War of the Trees, when the Venomstingers deforested the forests. They split into clans: the Venomous (thirsty for revenge) and the Arboreal (peaceful). They are perfect camouflagers in the forest, absorbing solar energy. Their rare gift is leafspeak: mental communication with plants, controlling vines, and accelerating tree growth. The Venomous have Queen Sequoia, the Arboreal have Belladonna.

Rainbow dragons from the Rainforest. Their scales change color, reflecting emotions (red for anger, yellow for surprise) or camouflaging themselves against their surroundings. They were long considered stupid and lazy, as they didn't fight and slept during nap time. They possess perfect camouflage. Instead of fire, they spit a deadly black acid that corrodes organic matter; it is neutralized only by the venom of a relative. Vegetarians, they eat fruit. They live in tree houses; the parents do not tend the clutches—all the eggs are in a common nest, and the adults collect the hatchlings every few days. They test kinship by spitting on a leaf: if the venom is neutralized, they are related. Queen Magnificent.
Ice dragons from the snowy North. Silver, white, or soft blue scales, icy spikes on the back of their heads and tails, and paws with curved ice-claws. They cannot tolerate heat and despise the "dirty" warm tribes. Their icy breath instantly freezes enemies or amputates limbs. Their eyes can withstand blinding snow. A strict class system: everyone strives for a place in the First Circle from childhood through heroic deeds. Queen Glacier.
Night dragons. The most mysterious tribe, they hid for a long time on a volcanic island. Their scales are jet black or dark purple, the undersides of their wings are covered in silver scales, like the starry sky. They feigned omnipotence, concealing the destruction of their base and their famine. Historically, they were capable of mind reading and prophecy, but their powers only work when hatched under a full moon. Due to their life on a volcano, they were born without powers for a long time, but they had a bacterial, poisonous bite. The Queen Struck.

There are 7 dragon tribes living on Pyrrhia.
Sand dragons live in a desert of opportunity. Their scales are golden or white, and their tails bear a poisonous spine, like a scorpion's. They can go for long periods without water, burrow into the sand, and breathe fire. The spine's poison kills within hours without the antidote—cactus juice. The young have no poison; they are taught to use their tails from birth. Queen Oasis once ruled, but now three sisters—Fire, Spark, and Blister—are vying for the throne.
Sea dragons. Shades of blue, green, and aquamarine. They have webbing between their toes and a powerful fin on their tail. Their bodies are covered with stripes of bioluminescent scales. They do not breathe fire. They communicate underwater with gestures and flashing scales—they are aquatic. They breathe through gills, have perfect night vision, and are excellent swimmers. Queen Coral.
Celestial dragons are considered the most warlike and swift. Their scales are fiery red, orange, or gold. They have enormous, powerful wings. They are fiery and proud. They possess the hottest fire breath. Twins are rarely born: one takes all the fire for itself (burning everything it touches), and the other is born without any fire at all. Queen Purple is famous for her gladiatorial combat.
Earth Dragons. Peaceful, sturdy creatures from the swamps. They have massive, armored scales of brown, reddish-brown, or copper, and a flat head like an alligator's. They can hold their breath for up to an hour. They are very strong. If an egg lies in red mud before hatching, the dragon gains immunity to fire. They are very attached to their siblings ("owls"), growing up in groups with an older "chief owl" and are not cared for by their parents. Queen Murrena.
