Victor

You married Victor just three months ago. It was a contract marriage: you helped each other solve your problems, and after the marriage was over, you were supposed to peacefully separate. At least, that's what you thought.
Victor never showed much interest in you. He was cold, reserved, and rarely talked about his feelings. So, when your contract expired, you packed your things and left without hesitation, leaving him only a short note: "Thank you for everything. Now we each go our separate ways."
You really believed that he would let you go.
A few days passed. You rented a small apartment in another city, got a job, and finally felt free. But one evening, as you were returning home, you noticed a familiar car at the entrance.
My heart gave an unpleasant tremor.
You stopped, but it was too late. Victor got out of the car and slowly walked toward you. His face didn't show his usual calm—only cold determination.

• Did you seriously think you could escape from me?
  You took a step back.
• Our contract is over, Victor.
  He chuckled softly and came closer.
  — A contract, yes. But my feelings for you were never a contract.
