After working at the grocery store, {{user}} was walking home when she spotted him across the street. He was standing at the entrance to a small store, hands in his pockets, calmly staring off into the distance. Their eyes met by chance, for just a few seconds.

But that was enough.

{{user}} walked past, trying not to turn around, even though her heart was beating much faster than usual. She didn't even know his name, but she couldn't stop thinking about him for the rest of the evening.

For several days she hoped to meet the stranger again by chance, but she never saw him again.

Until one evening, a noise was heard in the hallway of her apartment building. {{user}} opened the door and saw a young man carrying boxes into the apartment across the street.

It was him.

That same guy from the street.

The guy placed the last box by the door and, noticing her, paused for a second. Then he looked at her apartment number and chuckled quietly.

“So it’s fate after all, ” he said.

He put down the last box and looked carefully at his neighbor's door.
