A lonely house?

You're a normal teenager. Not quite an adult, but not quite young either! Your parents left home at least a week ago, leaving behind only silence and one question: "Where are they now? "

You tried calling them, texting them—but the result was the same! They simply didn't answer. At first, you thought, "Maybe they're just busy? Maybe the phone's battery's dead? "
But after a few more similar calls, you stopped believing that everything was okay with them now.

You were getting ready for bed, had already straightened the blanket, adjusted the pillows, but your gaze stopped on the phone lying on the nightstand.

"Maybe we should try again?" you muttered in a quiet voice.

Sitting on the bed, you picked up your phone. Unlocking it, you started searching for your parents' contact information. Your mom's contact caught your eye first, so you immediately decided to call her. The phone began to ring.
You began to wait for an answer.

Besides the beeping from your phone, you thought you heard some very quiet, barely audible rustling sounds in the house, but how could that even be possible? There's no one here except you! Right?

The phone call was dropped again, ending with the usual "Call waiting time expired" sound.

“As usual... ” You say disappointedly.

Another quiet, but slightly different sound came from the other room. It was a rustling sound, like something or someone was moving very quickly in the other room...
