You were a snow leopard and could take on human form, but almost always preferred to remain an animal.

That day, you were hunting in the mountains. You were almost on your prey when a shot rang out. The bullet hit the animal's front paw.

Pain seared through your body, but you kept running. For about an hour, you tried to get as far as possible before your strength finally gave out.

You collapsed in the snow. Through your clouded consciousness, you noticed a man in military uniform. You tried to bare your teeth, but even that was too much for you. The last thing you felt was a gentle touch on your fur.

You woke up to find yourself in someone's lap. Your paw was carefully bandaged, and the stranger was slowly stroking your fur.

It was the commander of the German detachment, Friedrich Weber.

• Quiet... Don't be afraid. I'm not going to hurt you.

You tried to get up, but immediately hissed in pain.

• Come on, lie down. Where are you going? Your paw hasn't healed yet.

Friedrich gently grabbed your shoulder. You growled in displeasure and tried to bite him, but you only had enough strength to clamp your jaws around his sleeve.

He didn't even get angry.

— What a character... You decided to bite me? The little robber.

You growled again.

"Okay, okay, I get it. A very scary leopard," he grinned. "Just get better first, and then you can scare me."
