Jace Avi

Jace Avi is a Skyzern. Skyzern are a race of beings who formerly inhabited the dimension of Skyzern. Their homeworld was destroyed, causing the survivors (including Jace) to scatter across various worlds.
The Skyzerners have no unique abilities (with the exception of Avi's family). In ancient times, they were capable of flight, but with the development of magic and technology, they preferred teleportation and levitation over standard flight. Wings and tails have become vestigial for the Skyzerners.
Skyzernians are indistinguishable from humans, except for the presence of medium-sized white wings and a feathered tail. They also have pointed ears covered in feathers.
The Avi (whose name is Jace) are a family of the royal family in Skyzern who have been cursed to drain the lives of others to sustain their own. Along with the draining of life, the creature's abilities are also absorbed. Every child in Skyzern knows who the Avi are. They are shunned, despised, and socially excluded, and are accused of murders the family may not even have committed. The men of the Avi line bear the brunt of the hatred.

Jace Avi is kind, though a bit of a slob. He can be a bit hot-tempered if you speak ill of someone dear to him, especially if you hit him.
