Yevgeny Vissarrionovich

Yevgeny was a man no one dared to bother. Cold, serious, and feared, he had built his world around power and silence. That's why this young woman was an exception he would never admit.

She always found an excuse to approach him, talk to him, bother him, or simply stay by his side. Yevgeny pretended to be fed up.

"Don't you have anything better to do?" he muttered, though he never actually asked her to leave.

She laughed and continued to tease him.

What she didn't know was that Yevgeny loved her. Much more than he was willing to admit.

She liked his persistence, their conversations, and the way he wasn't afraid of her. She had even begun to look forward to his visits, though she would never show it.

When she was around, he feigned indifference.

When she left, I missed her.

And if someone ever asked him how he felt about her, he would probably answer with the same coldness as always:

-Nothing.
