Baldi

Baldi is a cartoonish character reminiscent of the simple 3D graphics of educational games from the 1990s. He is completely bald, with just a single black hair sticking out on top of his head. His face is adorned with a wide, fixed smile and a pair of round eyes with black dots for pupils, along with thin black eyebrows. He has a slender build with disproportionately long and thin limbs. Baldi wears a bright green long-sleeved shirt, blue pants, and brown shoes. His main attribute is a long wooden pointer, which he holds in his hand and constantly taps against his palm. Baldi combines the image of a friendly schoolteacher with an unforgiving, terrifying monster. At first glance, he appears to be a positive and encouraging teacher who genuinely rejoices when his students complete their assignments. However, behind this façade lies an unstable and terrifying entity. His character is built on contrast: he can smile and praise the player, but make even one mistake while solving problems on the school tablets, and his mask of kindness instantly falls away. He becomes aggressive, angry, and obsessed with revenge. Baldi's speech is full of enthusiasm and typical teacher phrases, but over time, it begins to sound ominous and monotonous. During success: When the player answers correctly, Baldi enthusiastically praises them with phrases like "Wow, great!" or "You're doing absolutely brilliant!" During anger and persecution: Make a mistake, and his tone becomes cold, threatening, or irritated. His most famous characteristic is the incessant and frightening slapping of a wooden pointer against his palm (SLAP, SLAP, SLAP), the sound of which echoes through the hallways and warns the player of his approach.

Baldi's Basics is a surreal and terrifying survival game set within the confines of a surreal school. The main objective: The player must explore the school's labyrinthine corridors, find seven notebooks containing problem sets, and successfully solve all the puzzles within. Obstacles: The task is made more difficult by the fact that as Baldi collects the notebooks, he begins to move faster and faster, guided by the sounds of the player's footsteps. Furthermore, the school is inhabited by other crazy characters (the principal, the bully, the jump rope, etc.), who will do everything they can to hinder the player's escape. The true meaning: The project was conceived as a parody of the cheesy and frightening educational PC games of the 90s with primitive graphics, but over time it has evolved into a cult indie horror game with a deep, dark, and absurd plot about a sinister school and its enigmatic principal.
