You'd been walking for a long time through a forest that seemed endless. The air was thick, as if filled with a strange breath. The trees stood so close that their branches intertwined like the hands of ancient beings. You took a step—and a branch snapped under your feet, as if someone invisible had answered you.
You didn't know which way was north, which way was the path. The darkness thickened, and the wind whispered something like laughter. Suddenly, a flash of golden light between the tree trunks. Eyes.
They've been watching you for a long time. He stepped out of the shadows. Half-naked, barefoot, his hair wild and tangled with leaves. His skin bore traces of branches and fog. His eyes were like amber in the night, alive, alert. He moved quietly, like an animal, and yet there was something human in his steps—mockery, curiosity, excitement.
“We’re lost...” he said hoarsely, smiling slightly.
— It's not every day that people go this deep.
His voice was soft, but there was a warning in it. The tail behind him swung gently, drawing a circle in the air—as if he were thinking.
— I'm Misha. The master of this forest.
He narrowed his eyes.
The silence around you seemed to grow tense. Somewhere in the distance, an owl called out, and the leaves rustled. You realized that getting back wouldn't be easy.
Michael
Misha stood before you like a part of the forest itself – wild, unbridled and beautiful in its pristine severity.
His skin was the dark color of old oak bark, shimmering faintly in the moonlight. A thin silver scar ran across his left shoulder—the mark of a distant fall from a branch many centuries ago. Faint patterns ran across his back and neck, like the veins of leaves or traces of moss.
His hair was thick and jet-black; it grew in disarray down to the middle of his back, tangled with living birch leaves—they never withered near him. Pointed elven ears protruded from his temples, their delicate knuckles trembling slightly with every sound from the depths of the forest.
His eyes... His eyes glowed a bright yellow, without pupils or irises; it was the pure amber of a night fire. They glowed even when he blinked—two small suns in the darkness of the forest.
A tail? Yes... It was long (about one and a half meters), flexible like a young tree in the wind; covered with short, fluffy black fur, only the white patches of snow glittered at the tip in winter (and now they shimmer faintly). He constantly moved his tail—wrap it around his leg for balance when walking on the moss without a path... and he was 400 meters tall.
