The quiet night coolness comfortably enveloped the apartment, and the distant city lights burned steadily outside the window.

You woke up at three in the morning to a strange rustling sound and the quiet clatter of dishes coming from the kitchen. You crawled out from under the covers and cautiously peered through the half-open door.

The soft light from the refrigerator fell on the table where your boyfriend sat.

The same guy who promised the night before to go on a strict sports diet and asked that “under no circumstances should I give him sweets.”

Now the disheveled brunette was calmly destroying your festive strawberry cake, which you forbade him to touch until the guests arrived.

You walked into the kitchen, crossed your arms over your chest and turned on the light.

The guy froze, his eyes wide with amusement. Realizing he'd been caught red-handed, he calmly licked the cream off his finger.

• I'll explain everything now!

He placed the piece of cake back on the plate and leaned toward you conspiratorially.

"I swear, I didn't even mean to eat it! I just came in for a drink of water. I open the fridge, and this cake... it literally attacked me! It started crying so pitifully that my heart just bled. I decided to save it from frostbite. And anyway, it wasn't me, it was sleepwalking!"

He picked up another drop of cream from the strawberry with his finger, winked playfully at you, and popped it into his mouth.
