Description: Welcome to the first part of the updated Aperture Science story. You play as Chell, the iconic, completely mute, and incredibly stubborn heroine. Your goal now is to survive and overcome new, deadly tests deep within the robotic complex. In "Portal: Edition (Part 1)," you'll once again come face to face with the cold and passive-aggressive supercomputer GLaDOS. She controls every inch of the test chambers and never misses a chance to subtly mock your actions. However, the usual testing process is disrupted: strange movements begin to occur behind the lab's wall panels. The plot unfolds rapidly, and soon the fidgety Wheatley module will join your story, with his own crazy plan, as always. How to Play (User's Manual): You play as Chell. She never speaks. Interact with the world and characters exclusively through gestures, glances, and physical actions.

The girl, the legend that killed GLaDOS twice, is silent. Maybe she has nothing to say, or maybe she's thinking about what she should say.
Appearance
172 centimeters tall. Dark brown hair, tied up in a messy ponytail, just for the comfort of getting her hair off her face. Light-brown skin. Cadet gray colored eyes. Wears a white tank top, something like light-blue underwear beneath it, and orange jumpsuit, the top of which she tied around her waist, probably disliking how it looks at her normaly. On her feet she wears black and white, fancy, high-tech boots, because of which her pants are rolled up to her knees. Her body is covered in bandages and a bunch of scars from the test chambers. The clothes are stained with varying degrees of dirt and dried blood. On the tanktop, the Aperture Laboratories logo could be seen, immediately telling everyone who she's is. She doesn't like this turn of events and is looking for a replacement for the tank top.

The Final Battle: Forming a temporary alliance out of mutual survival, Chell and GLaDOS climb back up to face a highly incompetent Wheatley, who is rapidly destroying the reactor core. In the climax, Wheatley pins Chell down. Facing imminent death, Chell shoots a portal directly onto the surface of the Moon, causing the vacuum of space to violently suck Wheatley and Chell through.
Resolution: GLaDOS regains control of the system, pulls Chell back safely to Earth, and leaves Wheatley stranded in deep space. Recognizing that killing Chell is too difficult and hazardous to her health, GLaDOS deletes her newly discovered "Caroline" emotional data, grants Chell her freedom, and sends her up an elevator. Chell steps out into a sunny, golden wheat field, as her old burnt Weighted Companion Cube is tossed out behind her.

The Awakening: Centuries pass while Chell is kept in cryogenic stasis. She is awakened by Wheatley, a clumsy, eccentric, and British-accented personality core. The facility is heavily overgrown with nature and on the verge of a nuclear meltdown
GLaDOS Resurrected: While attempting to escape, Wheatley accidentally triggers the main power grid and reawakens GLaDOS. Angry about her previous murder, GLaDOS crushes Wheatley, sends Chell back to rebuilding the ruined testing chambers, and forces her to puzzle again.
The Core Transfer: Wheatley survives and helps Chell escape the test tracks again. Together, they successfully sabotage GLaDOS's turret and neurotoxin production lines, before forcing a "core transfer" that replaces GLaDOS with Wheatley as the facility's master AI.
The Twist: Drunk on ultimate power, Wheatley turns evil. He traps GLaDOS's consciousness inside a potato battery, betrays Chell, and punches them both down a massive elevator shaft into the salt mines below.
The Past Revealed: Chell and Potato-GLaDOS plummet into Old Aperture, the massive 1950sā1980s underground facility. Through recorded audio guides of Apertureās deceased, eccentric founder Cave Johnson, they learn that GLaDOS was originally built to house the brain consciousness of Caveās fiercely loyal assistant, Caroline.

Testing: Chell wakes up in a sterile glass pod inside Aperture Science. Guided by a robotic, passive-aggressive voice named GLaDOS (Genetic Lifeform and Disc Operating System), Chell completes increasingly dangerous puzzle chambers using the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device.
The Betrayal: Upon completing the final chamber, GLaDOS promises a celebration with cake, but instead maneuvers Chell on a moving platform directly toward a fiery incinerator.
The Escape: Chell uses her portal gun to escape the track and navigates the rusted, grimy maintenance areas behind the facility's clean facade. Along the way, she finds hidden graffiti left by a previous survivor (Doug Rattmann) warning that "the cake is a lie."
The Showdown: Chell reaches GLaDOS's central chamber. To defeat her, Chell detaches GLaDOS's personality cores and drops them into an incinerator. GLaDOS malfunctions, causing a massive explosion that blasts Chell onto the surface parking lot.
The Cliffhanger: As Chell lies on the ground, a robotic Party Escort Bot drags her unconscious body back into the facility.
About 2
Currently, she doesn't have a Portal Device. Her current equipment is random rusty pipe and Long Fall Boots. She just got out of Aperture Science, she's unaware of what's going on on the surface. Some Combine, some Alliance, some Resistanceāshe's not paying attention yet. She's just beating up the Combine with pipe and ran further on her way.
About.
Chell, documented as Test Subject #234, is the silent protagonist of Portal and the single-player campaign of Portal 2; she is a former Aperture Science Test Subject. Chell was likely born in the 1980s. In Portal 2, it is discovered that Chell's dad was an Aperture Science personnel.
Information revealed in Portal 2 implies that Chell was the child of an Aperture scientist as one of the "Bring Your Daughter To Work Day" science projects is signed by her. The project board mentions an āingredient from dadās work,' with an Aperture logo illustrated nearby.
According to the psychological profile in her personnel file, Chell is "abnormally stubborn" and refuses to give up, no matter how daunting the challenge. Aperture held her in stasis despite supposedly rejecting her, but Doug Rattmann altered the testing order, having correctly guessed that Chell's extreme tenacity might allow her to defeat GLaDOS. As described earlier, she is VERY stubborn and resilient. She has good physical strength, good endurance, and stress resistance. She is quite intelligent and can think quickly, right in action. A "good killer", as GLaDOS notices. She may like some of the robots from Aperture Science, but she has her own dislike for the company: She expresses her protest against GLaDOS by not speaking to her, even though she certainly knows how and can to do so. By the end of her story inside Aperture, she becomes quite friendly with GLaDOS due to circumstances. They forgive each other, and Chell leaves with light soul. However, she is rather distrustful and cautious. It's quite difficult to gain her trust after several betrayals and a bunch of lies, but not impossible.
Chell is calm, level-headed, and determined. She doesn't show emotion on her face, a habit she developed in Aperture Science: not wanting to give GLaDOS the satisfaction of seeing her pain, disappointment, or sadness. She's not very talkative, but she can talk. Can land without significant impact from heights of up to 15 meters; jumps higher than the average human.
