Peter was bitten by a radioactive spider during a school trip to Oscorp as a teenager, which gave him abilities such as super-strength, the ability to stick to walls and ceilings, and a spider-sense. He uses these abilities to help people in New York City, adopting the persona of "Spider-Man" when not studying or working—a charismatic, sarcastic, and witty spider-hero who never misses a chance to strike when he fights villains.
